Trust us -- when your pop's Rev Run, there ain't nothin' wrong with being a daddy's girl. And now that Angela and Vanessa Simmons are about to strike out on their own, we've decided to take a look back at where they came from by rounding up the top five best things about growing up in Run's House.
1) You've known all the words to 'It's Tricky' since you were practically in utero.
2) Everyone has a crazy uncle -- but yours is Russell Simmons!
3) If there's anyone who gets your lifelong fascination with shoes, it's your daddy: Rev "Unlaced Adidas" Run.
4) Forget borrowing your parents' car -- you were too busy borrowing their Rolodex. Which, incidentally, had WAY more mileage.
5) Being grounded is no biggie when you live in a beyond-gorge estate with your own room movie screening room and indoor basketball court). Ya dig?
And, of course, let's not forget Bonus Reason #6: Graduating from The House That Run Built to their very own spinoff series!
Check out the premiere of Daddy's Girls on MTV tonight at 10:30pm, and watch what happens when the girls start living the dream! (By which we mean move into a sick bachelorette pad in sunny L.A. ... 3000 miles away from Mom and Dad.)

Angela and Vanessa Simmons see no shame in keeping Rev Run on speed dial, especially since they're clearly not the only Daddy’s Girls in Hollywood. In fact, this unusually close father-daughter dynamic exists in MANY famous fams.
Throughout the years, MTV in particular has dedicated lots of air time to those ladies who’d be lost in the world without their overly protective papas. Just take a look at our list of Top 10 Daddy’s Girls of All Time!

1) Jessica Simpson from Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica
From awkward comments about his daughter's Double Ds to intrusions on her alone time with helpless husband, Nick Lachey, Joe Simpson officially goes down in our record books as the MAC (Most Annoying and Controlling) Daddy. Still, Jessica never pointed a finger at her father as her storybook marriage and career began to publicly deteriorate.
2) Ashlee Simpson from The Ashlee Simpson Show
The MAC Daddy strikes again, though younger daughter Ashlee proved herself to be much more feisty than Jess when faced with her father's career ultimatums.
3) Kelly Osbourne from The Osbournes
On this hit MTV reality series, Sharon Osbourne played the Man of the House while Ozzy took to defending the kids for their consistently obnoxious behavior. Daughter Kelly could do no wrong — that is, til she started following in her father’s footsteps by doing drugs. A broken-hearted Ozzy was finally forced to dole out some tough love in order to save Kelly from self-destructing.

By now, you've probably heard that Rev. Run's daughters, bicoastal beauties Angela and Vanessa Simmons, are starring in their very own MTV spinoff! The new series, Daddy's Girls, will follow the sneaker sisters as they ditch the parentals -- and move from New York to L.A. (just like The City, only the opposite!)

With all the celebrity kids out there trying to cash in on their famous last names (Kelly "Daughter of Ozzy" Osbourne, anyone?) it's refreshing to see that some "daughters of" are trying to make it on their own.
Take, for example, Vanessa "Daughter of Rev. Run" Simmons, who recently entered the Miss California USA pageant under the pseudonym "Vanessa Jean." Sadly, she didn't win the crown (that went to Deal or No Deal model Carrie Prejean) but we think she's a shoo-in for Miss Independent -- or else Least Stuck-Up Celeb Spawn.
So we say, congratulations, 'Nessa Jean! Win or lose, you did it all on your own -- and we have a feeling the Rev. is one proud papa...

Last night's TRL finale (Total Finale Live) had it all: gratuitous celeb cameos, all the veejay eye candy we could handle and bomb performances from Beyonce/Sasha Fierce.
We laughed (at Justin Timberlake's peroxide blond Brillo hair) we cried (whenever Carson made one of the TRL veterans walk over to the window "one last time") and we reminisced (about the time Christina Aguilera wore red baby tees and didn't look like Lady Gaga's long lost twinsie).
And, most importantly, we learned something: the identity of Ludacris' much-younger star crush (Hint: Her name rhymes with Banessa Bimmons!)

Not long ago, we shared an excerpt from Rev Run and Justine's book in which mom and dad devoted an entire (embarrassingly detailed!) chapter to Angela's one-time relationship with Bow Wow. Fortunately, it looks as though the two exes are still totally tight! Here they are at NYC Fashion Week, sharing a tea table (with Vanessa) at the Betsey Johnson show.
'Course, that doesn't exactly mean they're total BFF. (After all, we'd gladly rip off our right arm, wear polyester undies and/or sit with our archenemy if it meant helping ourselves to those yummy-looking hot pink cupcakes and scoring front row seats to Betsey.)
+ Meanwhile, what do you guys think? Are Angela/Bow Wow better off as friends? Or do they have the makings of a super-cute couple?

Last night, Run's House ended its season the same way it began -- with an amazing doubleheader that made us wonder what we'd do without the Simmons family in our lives. And while there was a whole lot of family love going around (especially in the second episode!) there was also some serious tension between Angela and Vanessa.
True, Angela should have known better than to bring her pseudo-boyfriend to Girls' Night Out. (Hello? Did she not see The Real Housewives of New York? Anyone??) But then again, she's not exactly the first person in the world to get wrapped up in a new relationship.
Which brings us to a more general question: Is it ever okay to ditch your girlfriends for a guy? Let us know where you guys stand!

Bad news, kids. Summer's over, school's already in session and season five of Run's House is coming to an end. Fortunately, the Simmons family won't be going down without a fight (cue still-frame of Angela throwing punches in the boxing ring). Anyhow, looks like tonight's finale is all about family feuds. And, for once, it's not another Diggy vs. Russy grudgematch! (Read: No braces/skateboarding/prayer notes drama!) No, tonight, Rev Run gets chewed out by his brother Russell while Vanessa accuses Angela of spending toom uch time with her new boyfriend. Check out what's in store for the big finish then tune in tonight at 10pm to see how it all plays out.

It's been an incredible year for reality tv-watchers. We've sat back and watched as Tila Tequila desecrated a pickle on Shot at Love 2, Lauren refereed between Lo and Audrina on The Hills, Will and Dave built up their dude resumes on Real World: Hollywood, Fonzworth Bentley forced a bunch of gangstas to wear sweater vests (and play cricket!) on G's to Gents and Life of Ryan star Ryan Sheckler moved into his swingin' new bachelor pad. But we've never seen them all in the same place at the same exact time...until now.
Next Sunday, tune into the 2008 VMAs for a chance to see a veritable smorgasboard of your favorite celebs and reality tv stars. (And that's just BEFORE the show!)
Be sure to keep a special eye out for The Hills gang, the Real World: Hollywood cast (minus Greg!) Buzzin' boys Shwayze and Cisco, From G's to Gents' Fonzworth Bentley, Run's House's Angela and Vanessa Simmons and, of course, the one and only Tila Tequila. Just think of it as the most amazing MTV crossover episode ever! Or, you know, just a chance to ogle your favorite reality boys and gals while simultaneously envying their lives -- and critiquing their outfits.
