It's quickly creepin' up on us. In just two weeks, a Season Four champion of ABDC will be crowned! Man, seems like just yesterday Season One's JabbaWockeeZ were blowin' us away with their awesome isolations. Still, the Jabbas had three other tough crews to top at this point in the competition, and that got us thinking ...
The current remaining crews are extremely different from one another, showing us the full spectrum of dance moves and making the competition that much more tough to judge. But are they the most talented final four from all seasons? Take the poll and tell us: Which group of dancers brought the game to its highest level?
Season 1 Final Four Crews JabbaWockeez, Status Quo, Kaba Modern, BreakSk8
Season 2 Final Four Crews Super Cr3w, SoReal Cru, Fanny Pak, Boogie Bots
Season 3 Final Four Crews Quest Crew, Beat Freaks, Fly Khicks, Strikers All-Stars
Season 4 Final Four Crews AfroBorike, Massive Monkees, Rhythm City, We Are Heroes
From the very beginning, Kaba Modern became a crew that set the bar for others that dared to follow in their giant dance steps. But they also became one of a handful of all-Asian crews in ABDC history -- such as SoReal Cru and last time's champs, Quest Crew -- to have been unfairly compared to one another. Well, this season's only all-Asian crew, Fr3sh, are hoping to distance themselves from stereotypes.
"We are an all-Asian crew and we embrace our heritage, but we want to be thought of as dancers, not Asian dancers," crew leader Adrian Causing told us this week. "There is nothing wrong with being compared to those crews, but we feel we have more to offer than what you've seen in the past ... We're going to surprise a lot of people."
Just as the dust was settling after last week's ABDC, we caught up with a few of the members of SoReal Cru, who swung by that evening for a special halftime performance. Check out the video to see some of their routine and hear what they've been up to since last season's nail-biting finale.
Tomorrow's not just another chance to dance -- there's much more on the line for the crews involved. The winner of the Battle for the VMAs (1pm EST) will get the honor of donating $25,000 to a charity of their choice. Not bad considering some of these crews came from nothing and now have the opportunity to give back to their community however they see fit. Watch the video to hear from some of your favorite dancers -- Kaba Modern, Status Quo, SoReal Cru -- about what's in store!
SoReal Cru have been moving non-stop since the start of Season 2 -- in fact, they're the only crew taking part in Saturday's Battle for the VMA's that hasn't had a break. Hear what the guys have in store for their fans after this final bonus showdown...
One of America's favorite crews from Season One, Break Sk8, is back in LA for one more shot at glory. They've been rehearsing all week -- along with Fanny Pak, SoReal Cru, Kaba Modern and Status Quo -- for a chance to perform live at the VMA's on September 7.
Tune in Saturday at 1pm EST to watch the dance-off and vote for your favorite crew!
We have ourselves a winner, folks! Super Cr3w spent three separate weeks in the dreaded Bottom Two, yet came out on top in the end. They've officially brought breakin' into the mainstream -- or so says Shane Sparks. Much love to SoReal Cru for going down fighting, but it seems that America loves air flares, back flips and Do-Knock! Watch the video to celebrate with the winning crew...
Watching Super Cr3w and SoReal Cru rehearse together this morning was sick! You really have to pat these final two crews on the back for all the hard work they've been putting in -- while all the other crews came back to L.A. well rested, Super Cr3w and SoReal Cru haven't had a moment to breathe, let alone sleep.
We tip our hats to both of you... top hats in this case.
Yesterday we caught up with Distorted X -- it had been quite a long time since we'd seen them around the joint. They had much to say about their untimely release from ABDC, but today the crew let their talent do the talking.
During the Southern region's rehearsal, someone left the on-stage doors open so all of the crews backstage could see the guys about to perform. Once the music started, everyone just got quiet, not moving an inch while SoReal Cru shared the spotlight with Distorted X. Time froze as Distorted X finally got their chance to show everyone what they're made of... and everyone unanimously agreed: "Still glad we didn't get sent home first!"
Tune in Thursday night to see these southerners perform for yourself!
While the eight previously eliminated crews waited to rehearse their final number on stage, SoReal Cru and Super Cr3w were escorted off to private locations on the WB lot to practice a 'winning number'. (Above, SoReal Cru take a break on the front porch of a house once used in the movie, O' Brother Where Art Thou?)
Whoever ends up with the most votes Thursday night will be asked to perform one final celebration dance, just like last season's champs. Unfortunately, both crews were only given about two hours to put this bonus routine together. Let's hope our winners don't lose momentum!
