We'll admit it: we had mixed emotions when watching this week's Ruins finale. On the one hand, we wanted to see KellyAnne and Sarah give those guys the shock of a lifetime by snatching the grand prize right from under their overconfident little noses. On the other hand, we wanted to see Susie make Johnny eat his words by busting ass -- and leading her team (of ingrates) to certain victory.

In the end, we got one of our wishes (Susie stepped up and saved the boys' butts!) but the Champs' top girl admits she came thisclose to throwing in the towel -- and joining forces with the Challengers. Listen up as Susie talks about the temptation she felt to eff over her team, plus hear why Evan says he'd like to do a Challenge where all the shady side-deals are right out in the open.

Ever wondered how smart (or strong, or tough) you gotta be to take home first prize on a Real World/Road Rules Challenge? Well, the way Susie sees it, the game's not really about being the best -- or the brightest. It's about being good "enough." In other words? You've gotta be clever enough to stick around til the end. And athletic enough not to pass out before you reach the finish line.

So what does the rest of the winner's circle (and, uh, Sarah) have to say? Well, while Johnny claims the game's "much more mental than it is physical," Evan's more concerned with the way his team exaggerated their (alleged) athletic achievements. Hear the Ruins crew discuss the importance of brains vs. brawn, then watch Evan argue that most of his teammates were a bunch of wannabe jocks and liars.

Atta girl, Susie! We gotta hand it to Goldilocks: the abuse she suffered at the mouth of Johnny Bananas these past few episodes of The Ruins was pretty brutal -- but Sooz simply slapped on some noise-proof earmuffs, stood her ground in the physical challenges and played a ruthlessly smart game, which ultimately won her even more Benjis than the boys! Plus, to sweeten the pot, Johnny did MORE THAN ONE takesies-backsies of every mean thing he ever said about the Ruins all-star. Don't ya just love a happy ending, served with a huge dose of humble pie? Watch Susie give Johnny sincere thanks for (finally) manning up and admitting who's boss:

Bonus: After the jump, the Ruins cast explains that in order to win a challenge, you've gotta possess a balanced combo of smarts and strength ... which the bulk of their past competitors seem to always be lacking.

The promise of an overflowing piggy bank can be most persuasive. Not only might you be willing to run around in nothing but a banana hammock, but you'd also probably consider putting all sorts of foul-tasting creatures down your throat -- even though you knew for sure they'd eventually come creeping back up (and out). Take a second look at the scene from tonight's Ruins finale in which the last-men/women-standing were almost defeated by a plate of insect appetizers. Plus, also check out our Ruins Replay video of Johnny, Susie, Evan and Sarah describing the after-effects of chugging down some good ole fashioned bug juice.

These Ruins games aren't about making friends -- they're about making money. And from a purely financial standpoint, Evan, Kenny, Derek and Johnny all had a lot to gain from sending Susie off to all-but-certain elimination at the hands of KellyAnne. So when Johnny came up with a plan to throw this week's challenge (and, potentially, give Susie the boot), we figured he wouldn't have too much trouble getting the other guys on board. Instead, the boys surprised us by giving the challenge their all, and -- in Evan's case -- it wasn't about the guaranteed 4 Gs so much as doing the right thing! (Or so he says.) Anyhow, hear why Evan refused to give Susie a swift "kick in the face," then listen up as she drops a (belated) bombshell dem boys never saw coming!

At first, Sarah liked all the attention she was getting from Kenny. And why wouldn't she? After all, he's hot, she's bored and they hit it off right away. So what went wrong? Well, in typical boy fashion, Kenny started pulling the ol' two-faced routine, acting all cute and considerate when they were alone -- but then rippin' Sarah apart whenever the bros were around. Not surprisingly, our sweet little swimmer eventually got tired of being treated like a doormat, and tonight, for the very first time, she gave Kenny a piece of her mind.

Natch, we wanted to know what finally caused Sarah to break down, so we rounded up the gang to hear their take. Watch as Sarah tears up one last time (we hope!), Susie calls out Kenny for trying to play both sides and Johnny Bananas calls Evan a c**kblocker for trying to keep the could've-been lovebirds apart.

Let's face it, Johnny Bananas hasn't made many friends on The Ruins -- or on any Real World/Road Rules Challenge for that matter. So it wasn't a big surprise tonight when he tried to screw Susie by throwing the Wall Walker Challenge. (The key word here is "tried.")

Below, watch Johnny play the big a-hole (yet again) while Evan and Kenny redeem themselves (and make Johnny look even worse) by holding onto their flowers and securing the win for the Champions. Plus, don't forget to share your comments in the player as the scene plays out!

So what does Johnny have to say for himself now? We met up with him face-to-face during our Ruins Replay shoot a few weeks ago and asked him all about his misogynistic tendencies and overall commitment to douchebaggery. Surprisingly, his defense made a little bit o' sense.

Could it be that Johnny's NOT the biggest jerkface in the world, and maybe he's just taking the fall for all those undercover jerkfaces (ahem, Kevan) we know so well? Check out his argument in the video below, and after the jump, give a listen while Johnny and Susie sort out their problems (maturely!) and finally come to a truce.

The Ruins' verbal firing squad that is Evan and Johnny recently gave us a few belly laughs when describing the coordination skills of one Casey Cooper. We're particularly fond of the part in this video where Evan compares the start of Casey's day to a baby horse's first steps. But then again, Johnny definitely gets clever with the childhood reference ("She would have been fun to watch at a birthday party as a kid, trying to hit a pinata.").

We know, we know, she's way too easy of a target ... but that doesn't make this Ruins Replay clip any less hilarious. (For the record, Casey, we think you're pretty cool, even if you do suck at lotsa stuff. Like walking.)

KellyAnne's taken quite a few helpings of Real World/Road Rules Challenge man candy over the seasons -- hey, it's not like she denies it -- but tonight we saw her all worked up about a rampant rumor that she and Dunbar played Hide The Piglet during their stint as roommates in Australia. Whatchu talkin' about, Kimberly?!

KellyAnne INSISTED on both Episode 8 of The Ruins and its Aftershow that she and Dunbar NEVER had sex ... though if you want to get technical, apparently they did other things (er, see naughty video below). And as is typical with any he said/she said debate, Dunbar's got a whole different story...

Something smells funky in Thailand, no? Check out both Challengers' arguments here, then take our poll and tell us whether or not you think Dunbar dipped his wick in KellyAnne's hot wax!

When Johanna volunteered to go into The Ruins this week, we took it as a sign that she was finally ready to prove herself. But instead of buckling down (and showing everyone why she deserved to stay), Joey waved the white flag of surrender, said "See ya" to her team and walked away with a smile so big you'd have thought she just won the lottery! So what'd the rest of her team think about Johanna's early exit? Apparently, the jury's still split. First, hear Susie explain why Joey should've stuck it out til the end ("she would've made it!"), then watch Johnny come to his pal's defense by explaining how this game made everyone bananas.
