After incredible performances by all of the groups, including some smooth grooving by runner up Ju-Taun, Mosaic took the crown in an explosive finish for MTV's Top Pop Group. The confetti flew as everyone rushed on stage in a wave of congratulatory hugging, laughing and crying.
The only group to perform without music to back them, Mosaic initially faced an uphill battle to win America over. But the struggle seems to have made this victory all the sweeter, inspiring Sean Gerrity to yell out "A capella just became cool!" Check out Mosaic and Ju-Taun's reactions in this exclusive backstage interview:
We caught up with the judges during the final moments before the Top Pop finale taping, and Brian Friedman was out for blood! With America's expectations set high, he was well aware that it would be an intense night at the judges' table. None of them felt the need to hold anything back, and they didn't. Tune in tonight to see for yourself, or just watch the exclusive video below to get an idea...

Since the start of MTV's TPG, it's been a big debate whether or not Mosaic's style should be considered "pop." Already midway through the season, what do you have to say about the a capella vs. instruments argument? We caught up with John Gibson to get the group's side of things...
John told us, "We knew it was a risk to bring our style onto the show. Live audiences love us, but the jump to television felt like a long shot. But it's beginning to look like the gambles paying off.. Honestly, we were certain we were going to be scraping the bottom both times so far, but we pulled through. I hope people are beginning to hear what we're doing on that stage."
MTV's Top Pop Group was poppin' at last night's show taping. While some groups soared to new heights, others fell flat. I can't give too much away, but let's just say that the judges seriously let it rip this week!
Backstage the air was positively buzzing as the artists darted around for hair touchups, bathroom breaks, group hugs and prayer circles to kick off what was to be a rollercoaster of a night.
Tune in Thursday night at 10pm to see the judges s-p-e-l-l it out.
This week's Top Pop picks include not one, but TWO songs that judge Taboo knows like the back of his hand: "Let's Get It Started in Here" and "Big Girls Don't Cry," by the Black Eyed Peas.
At last night's taping, Mosaic had the dubious fortune of singing "Let's Get It Started in Here." As for "Big Girls Don't Cry," it was pretty clear to the ladies of Concrete Rose that they had some big Fergie-sized shoes to fill.
Tune in Thursday at 10pm to see if the groups did Taboo proud!
Take one R&B superstar, add four saucy Latin girls, simmer to a slow boil. It was one hot & spicy mess up at the rehearsal studio today as MTV's Top Pop Group let Omarion loose on our stars to be... or was it the other way around?
Las Caprice got down (OMG, literally!) with O as he shared suggestions for a showstopping performance. Watch 'em all in action here:
It's only Week Three and we've already seen some standout performances as these Top Pop Groups "Defined" and "Refined" themselves on the big stage. Now it looks like everyone's ready to turn it up a notch in this week's "Make it Your Own" challenge.

Ju-Taun: "Let Me Love You" by Mario S1: "Put On" by Young Jeezy Jazmin: "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis NJ5ive: "Confessions" by Usher Mosaic: "Let's Get it Started in Here" by Black Eyed Peas Las Caprice: "SOS" by Rihanna Concrete Rose: "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie
Looking better than ever -- or at least better than he did on Tuesday night while withering in pain -- Josh tells us that he's OK now and nothing short of death could keep him from performing next week.
Yesterday we reported that Josh from Mosaic was taken by ambulance to the hospital after collapsing from stomach pain. After a full exam, doctors told show producers that Josh suffered from gastrointestinal problems that came on suddenly, nothing more serious than that. He had a rough night, but is already well on his way to recovery.
Our cameras happened to catch all the chaos amidst Josh's scare. Watch below as his fellow group members anxiously stand by their pal...
