When Heidi told Spencer she wanted to have a birthday party this year (needy, needy!), all we could think was: 1) Will they invite Enzo? and 2) Where have we seen that nifty side-braid before? Well, turns out, this party was an adults-only affair -- good thing, too, given Audrina and Kristin's potty mouths -- and, after staring at Heidi's hair for a few secs, it finally hit us: that blink-and-you'll-miss-me braid is LC's trademark look!

+ Think Heidi's intentionally channeling her ex-BFF? Or are we just imagining the similarities? Take a look at these side-by-side pix then tell us whether Heidi's walking around with a lock of Lauren's hair!

We saw so many great tweets from our Hillzies this week, so we thought we'd give you a peek at some of our faves! Find out what's got Steph Pratt saying she's sorry, Audrina Patridge gushing over Heidi Pratt and Lauren Conrad all a-twitter about the new love of her life. Read 'em and weep in this week's all-Hills edition of MTV Tweets of the Week!

Former Hills star Lauren Conrad is always changing up her look, and at Tuesday night's Avon benefit, she reminded us that reinventing the classics keeps retro fashions looking oh-so-fresh. So how'd she go old-school glam (a la Mad Men)? Simple: she stayed away from current trends -- like statement necklaces and flashy footwear -- and went with elegant basics, like this soft, gray Herve Leger dress.

To get the look yourself, pair plain black pumps with a fitted, knee-length and neutral-colored dress (we like this one from Ann Taylor Loft), then top it off with bright red lips, a touch of black eyeliner and chic, pinned-back curls. Voila! You're an old Hollywood star! Now if only you could find a tall, dark and handsome costar as arm candy...

Believe it or not, it wasn't hate at first sight for Audrina Patridge and her Hills rival Kristin Cavallari. In fact, 'Drina had seen K-Cav around town long before Speidi's wedding (a.k.a. the night Kristin made come-and-get-me eyes at a pre-manscaped Justin Bobby). Even weirder? She actually thought they'd be gal pals!

"I met Kristin a few years ago when I was with Justin," Audrina told OK! magazine this week. "She was dating one of his friends, we were all at the same party, and I was like, 'Wow, this girl is really cool.' And then she came on the show, and I thought we were going to be friends." And they almost were! 'Til Audrina's future bestie went after her ex.

"I was in love with Justin and Kristin knew that," 'Drina pointed out. "For her to go after that one guy…" Well, as Liz Lemon would say on 30 Rock, "that's a dealbreaker, ladies!"

Happy Haiku Friday! In honor of Twitter, fall and all things concise, Remote Control is gettin' all artsy fartsy/experimental today with a pop culturized foray into Japanese poetry. Accordingly, all our posts will be comprised in 5-7-5 meter or non-traditionalist free-form. Stick around, you might learn something!

We're always so busy giving the Hills gals props for their stellar style that we (occasionally) forget all about the guys! And one dapper (but down-to-earth!) dude seriously deserving of recognition is Brody Jenner. Not only is the former Bromance-r bold, charismatic and luscious to look at, he's also the life of the party -- and living proof that you CAN stay friends with your exes. (Even famous ones like Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari.)

Accordingly, the consummate guy's guy (hello, he even dates a Playboy playmate!) got his due last night at the Hollywood Style awards when his old pal LC presented him with the trophy for Young Hollywood Style Maker. Hey, looks like K-Cav/Stacie the Bartender aren't the only ones who think the Brodester has major leading man potential!

Initially, Lo joined Stephanie and Audrina in assuming the worst about Kristin Cavallari. But from the looks of it, Lo and K-Cav are already starting to become all buddy-buddy! After grabbing lunch on the show (sans 'Drina) this week, the Laguna-turned-Hills gals were spotted chowing down again at L.A.'s Bread Bar yesterday afternoon. Hmm, could this be the beginning (er, continuation) of a beautiful friendship?

In other spottings ... Since her roomie was otherwise indisposed, Lauren Conrad spent her sunny afternoon solo, easing the pain of Lo's betrayal (we kid, we kid!) by doin' some shopping in West Hollywood. Check out these pics of LC out and about yesterday, plus peep other shots of Speidi spending some quality couples time at Louis Vuitton last week.

Back in July, when we first heard rumors of L.A. Candy getting the Hollywood treatment, we asked you guys whether Lauren Conrad should play herself (er, star as the novel's protagonist, Jane Roberts) in the big-screen edition. And while an overwhelming 67% of you thought LC should cast herself in the leading role, the Hillzie claims she's not even in the running.

"I think my acting is offensive!" Lauren told People.com late last week, after it was announced her bestselling book was being turned into a full feature film. "I'm an awful actor, I'm not super comfortable with it. In fact I was just trying to do lines ... and they'll tell you, I cannot memorize lines."

So who does that leave? We rounded up three actresses we think would be perfect for the part. Starting with...

BLAKE LIVELY:
Cute, blonde and uber experienced at playing Miss Popular, Lively (best known as Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl) fully understands what it's like to be the TV "It" girl. The only problem? We've mostly seen Lively in roles where she luuuurves being the center of attention (like Bridget in Traveling Pants). For Candy, she'll need to be more of a reluctant hero -- but if she can deliver Jane's wide-eyed vulnerability (and "Who, me?" humility), we're thinking she'll make LC proud.

AMANDA SEYFRIED:
Although often cast as the second banana (think: Regina George's lackey in Mean Girls and Megan Fox's sidekick in Jennifer's Body), Seyfried's got the kind of quiet confidence and unassuming beauty that's hard to ignore. A wispy, doe-eyed blonde, the Mamma MiaI actress is the perfect stand-in for small-town Jane, and we can totally see her shy, good girl act stealing the show from the ditzy Gaby and paparazzi-addicted Madison.

TAYLOR SWIFT:
Okay, fine. So she doesn't have the same acting cred as the first two, but Taylor HAS dabbled in TV (CSI, anyone?), plus she's sweet, adorable and totally believable as the girl-next-door. Despite blowing up big in the country music scene, Swift's still way more deer-in-the-headlights than diva, and she's got the "Imma let you finish" moment to prove it. The closest thing to a real-life Jane (besides Conrad herself, obvs), Swift's as innocent as they come. And if you don't believe us, just ask her ex-boyfriend: self-proclaimed virgin, Joe Jonas.

+ Got any better ideas? Tell us who you think should play Jane Roberts in the movie vershe of L.A. Candy, plus feel free to start casting the roles of Gaby, Madison, Scarlett and Braden!

Recently, Lauren Conrad told MTV News she'd be tuning in to watch Whitney Port on The City, and last night, Whit returned the favor by showing up to help LC celebrate her latest fashion coup: a new line at Kohl's department stores. And she wasn't the only one of LC's famous friends -- or former costars -- to lend her support.

Joining Whit on the red carpet was Lo Bosworth, LC's constant companion and roomie, who smiled prettily for the cameras (and even managed to squeeze in a little private time with her sweetie, lacrosse player Scott Hochstadt), as well as fellow reality stars Brittny Gastineau, The City's Roxy Olin and The Hills' own Frankie Delgado.

Check out these pics of Whitney, Lo and (of course) Lauren kickin' it at the big unveiling and get your first glimpse of the Lauren Conrad line for Kohl's!
