LC: "What do you mean 'only 1 computer'? I require a minimum of 3 to write!"
At various points in our careers, we've tried to crank out literary masterpieces over three-day holiday weekends, but for now, Remote Control remains our greatest accomplishment. Other writers we know, however, have found the time (and dedication!) to scribe a big badass book. Lauren Conrad in particular locked herself away in New York City recently to focus and finish up a draft of her own.
While Faulkner and Hemingway sought refuge in the form of mint juleps, LC's vice appears to be Instagramming in the middle of the creative process. The former "Hills" gal blogged on her website and tweeted about a firm deadline for her forthcoming novel. "Wrote until 3am last night+ now I'm working in my editors office w/ my glasses held on2 my face w/ a rubber band bc I sat on them #deadlines," she posted, before sharing the below photo of her DIY'd specs. Her technique is certainly unorthodox (we were trained to stack just two laptops), but hey, she's the one with books flying off the shelves.
LC: "This is the only way I can get them to stay on…. I mean, I’m basically MacGyver."

Lauren Conrad at the second annual Autumn Party in Hollywood.
As much of the Twittersphere banded together on Wednesday to wish Lauren Conrad a happy 26th birthday, we were surprised to see that former "Hills" villain Spencer Pratt tossed a few congratulatory messages in her direction. One even included the hashtag #forgiveandforget!
We were curious how Lauren would feel about Spencer trying to reconnect over the webs, and an article on UsMagazine.com suggests that she found it tres tacky. "Lauren loves using Twitter to interact with her fans and promote her brands," the site's source says, "but obviously she doesn't think it's an effective way to apologize or try to mend bridges." Guess that means we won't see an LC + Speidi tweet-a-thon anytime soon.
Elsewhere, Mandi, who found herself a victim of Vinny's Spring Break-like behavior on this week's "Exes," wanted to reiterate her disapproval following the episode. Under no condition would she find his action acceptable, guys. Even if she were wearing assless chaps.

Vinny saw 2012's first few seconds with a bookend of chicks at Joonbug.com's New Year's Bash in NYC.
While you spent NYE hanging out with your best pals and making resolutions you've probably already forgotten, MTV stars were doing...essentially the same thing. Well, with the exception of Tyler Posey, who had the unnerving task of ringing in 2012 for all of the network's viewers LIVE in Times Square. (Nice job, BTW, Ty!)
Lauren Conrad (with a Steph Pratt guest appearance) and Snooki took Vegas by storm; "Challenge" vet Coral used her new Twitter account to announce that she was perfectly content playing games with her little cousin; Scrillz of "Real World: San Diego" spent some QT with on-again/off-again bf, Dylan; and Vinny Guadagnino chummed it up with a pair of possible DTFs--one of whom couldn't keep her underwears undercover--in NYC's midtown. And with the world going nuts around her, Jenna Hamilton's "Awkward" mom, Nikki Deloach, took a moment to soak in the beauty of a fresh start at a SoCal beach.

Proof that Snionni is so not over.
How do you diffuse a pesky rumor while still maintaining some semblance of maturity? Well, if you're Snooki, whom In Touch Weekly just claimed broke up with her boyfriend, you take a cute picture with said beau and post it on Twitter for all to see and eat crow.
Roughly two days after the tabloid's website accused the couple of splitting up, our "Jersey Shore" meatball cyber-slammed them by tweeting a photo of her and Jionni looking pretty cozy. Take that, false reports.
Over on the other side of the country, Lauren Conrad nearly experienced a messy fashion doozy (sounds like a dry cleaning nightmare!) and Kristin Cavallari, who previously accepted an invitation to join Jonathan Burkett at his upcoming military ball, finally went to the grand fete. She promised to upload photos from the event, so we're anxiously standing by to see what she wore.

Conrad, all smiles at The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launch; Crawford, Zoolander-ing at the Versace For H&M party.
Damn, Lauren Conrad gets around! And we mean that in the most jealous, non-judgy way possible.
Ever since her very public breakup with Kyle Howard, the former "Hills" star has been basking in the single life, rightfully exploring her options in the sea of eligible Hollywood bachelors. Just last month she was dating (and PDA-ing with) "Dancing with the Stars" pro Derek Hough, and now comes word from Us Weekly that she was caught making out with Chace Crawford of "Gossip Girl." Can we just say, NICE WORK!
According to the mag, LC was spotted out with Crawford on Oct. 29 (um, hello, why are we just hearing about this now?), flirting at L.A.'s Voyeur nightclub and later meeting up at a private party. Says the source, "There's always been an attraction between them. "[But] Lauren is just enjoying herself. She's not taking anything too seriously!"
Both of the accused's reps deny the hookup, but as you very well know, that doesn't mean jack poop.

Lauren Conrad at the 2nd annual Autumn Party and JWOWW hosting a party at Pure nightclub.
While LaurenConrad.com visitors can generally expect tips on the perfect manicure, or what to do with old Halloween candy, the former "Hills" star ventured into dating territory today with an inaugural "Ladylike Laws" post. She pretty much confirmed what we already know: Lauren's a sucker for classic etiquette (so don't forget to pick up the check, cheapass).
Reviewing LC's advice, we couldn't help but recall when JWOWW of "Jersey Shore" also braved the wide world of relationship tips on JWOWW.com. Helpful all the same, but a little less conservative and a little more...doing it next to the small, quaint pond near the interstate.
Because no two people are alike, especially when it comes to dating, we decided to break down how the reality stars' advice differs and invite you to tell us whose you trust more. The following comes straight from their respective websites:
WHERE TO GO...
Lauren: Opt for something reasonably priced. When it comes to restaurants, pick a place with a wide variety of menu options. (You never know what your mystery man palate requires…he might be vegan or allergic to shellfish!)
Jenni: A shower, a car or even a kitchen table (just make sure to keep it sanitary and safe).

This week, one of the more comment-provoking stories on Remote Control focused on Lauren Conrad and "Dancing With The Stars" hunk Derek Hough. Instead of diffusing the recent romance rumors, LC fueled them by kissing him on the dance floor at Trousdale Lounge in L.A. We asked you whether or not they made a cute couple (71 percent of you said yes), and here's a sprinkling of what was posted on Remote Control and Facebook:
Remote Control
"If a guy is willing to dance in public, then he's worth dating. That's how I feel." -- Ashley
"OMG, Lauren!!! Don't you dare! He is absolutely miles and miles below you!" -- Marie
"I hope this doesn't last, he is NASTY...What is Lauren thinking?" -- Vegas_Ra

Lauren Conrad at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic last week and Derek Hough at Belvedere's RED party in August.
How do you shut down dating rumors? Kiss the other person in question in public! The genius of inconspicuousness...
Lauren Conrad and "Dancing With The Stars" standout Derek Hough made their reported fling a public affair last night at Trousdale Lounge in L.A., People reported, and they weren't a bit shy about it. Though the second rumored "Hills"/"DWTS" crossover couple were coy when rumors started circulating earlier this month (E! reported that there was something going on), they were anything but while out with friend Lo Bosworth.
+ Think Hou-rad (yeah, that's still a rough one) would make a cute couple, or are you not a fan? Take the poll and sound off in the comments below!

Derek Hough leaves 'DWTS' rehearsal, and Lauren Conrad flashes a smile at a Paper Crown event.
This is more disorienting than a Chasse followed by an Inside Partner Step.
Because "The Hills" and "Dancing With The Stars" seem to be the only important tribes on earth at the moment, another star of the former seems to have caught the eye of another star of the latter: Lauren Conrad and Derek Hough are an item, E! reports. And suddenly, a rivalry that dates back to 2004 reemerges between LC and current "DWTS" contestant Kristin Cavallari, who might be seeing dance partner Marc Ballas on and off the floor. What a tangled, extravagantly costumed web we weave.
Though LC and "Teen Wolf" star Colton Haynes showed potential as MTV's latest installment of kissing cousins this summer, it seems the "L.A. Candy" author is after a guy who has a penchant for arts, and not one who...wants to get bitten by a werewolf. Can't hold that against her.
+ What do you think of the possibility of Con...ough? Hou...rad? Perhaps they should reconsider.

Lauren Conrad gleams with pride during a book signing of "L.A.Candy."
Audrina Patridge hinted to "Hills" fans last month that there could--possibly--be a movie in the works, and while we're all eagerly waiting to find out whether there's any truth to that statement, that might not be the only exciting project ex-Hillzies have coming down the pike.
Lauren Conrad might--possibly--be turning her highly successful book series, "L.A. Candy," into a full-blown TV series, despite previous rumors that it was headed for the big screen. During an interview with SheKnows.com, LC told the site that, "It will not be a movie. We are exploring options in television."
+ What do you think about the chance of Lauren's novel coming to life across multiple episodes? Is that more exciting than seeing her work on the silver screen? Sound off in the comments!
