To (sort of) quote the original "Jersey" gangsta, Jon Bon Jovi: Shot through the heart, and you're to blame! Kyle Howard, you give love a bad name.

When we reported last week that Lauren Conrad had split with her longtime beau, all the details we knew were that it was a mutual decision and the couple had parted ways amicably. But new information has surfaced in the latest issue of Us Weekly suggesting that Kyle Howard actually hurt our girl in a myriad of ways throughout their relationship. (Side note: We just love it when we get the chance to use the word "myriad." It makes us feel all professor-like.) According to the magazine, the "My Boys" actor had aspirations of becoming the next Robert De Niro, and LC's reality TV career didn't fall in line with his (rather lofty, wouldn't you say?) ambition.

"He saw the relationship as distracting from his goal," the mag's insider said. "He wasn't supportive of her career." Wha? Let us get this straight--he was was embarrassed by a career that made his beautiful girlfriend rich and positioned her as a role model for young women everywhere? Can someone please esplain the logic?

And that's not all. Apparently Kyle didn't like hanging out with Lauren's friends--which again, doesn't make any sense. Who wouldn't want to chill with LoBoz?

The source added that "Lauren is heartbroken...she wants to be married and have kids," and that frankly breaks our heart to hear. She's a good girl who deserves a partner who treats her with respect, and it sucks to find out that she might not have always felt that from him. Especially since his predecessor Jason Wahler was no picnic either.

Chin up, LC. You'll find The One soon enough.

Well this just sucks.

Apparently, six months can really make a difference in a relationship--even the really perfect-seeming ones. Back in January, rumors surfaced that former "Hills" star Lauren Conrad and her boyfriend Kyle Howard had gotten engaged (the couple denied it), but E! News reported earlier this afternoon that they're officially O-V-A. What...The...EFF? This totally came out of left field for us, so please excuse the out of character WTFs, ZOMGs and other annoying blogger-associated acronyms and slang and all-CAPS we feel compelled to vom all over the screen right now.

Surriously people, we are totes POed! Lauren and Kyle were together for THREE years and we COMPLETELY thought they were gonna make it down the aisle sometime soonish. And LC would have designed her own dress, which would have been so elegant (and like, the furthest thing from Heidi Montag's blingy, marshmallowy White Swan wedding get-up) and-and-and we would have posted pix and reported which ex-Hillzies dined on what type of hors douvres and-and-and it would have just been WICKED AWWWWESOME! (Sorry, our inner Bostonian tends to sneak out during emotional times like this.)

The only real details about the breakup that we have so far are that it was mutual and amicable. Great, we're soooo glad they're feeling OK with the whole thing...We'll just be in the office bathroom stall 'til the end of the work day biting our cuticles and cursing ourselves out for getting so personally invested in relationships THAT AREN'T OURS!

Le sigh. THAT'S ENOUGH caps for now. Stay tuned for more details.

If any of the cast members can say they left "The Hills" on a positive note, it's Lauren Conrad. Since her graceful exit in 2009, she's kept busy penning two books ("L.A. Candy" and "Sweet Little Lies"), launching a fashion line and now--according to an article in the latest issue of Us Weekly--possibly even returning to TV. "[Lauren] is getting her own reality show, and networks have been fighting over it," the magazine's source revealed.

So can Lauren confirm the gossip? Kind of but not really. (Girl's so talented at evading direct questions!) She would say that her romantic life with long-term boyfriend Kyle Howard is boring, and if she were to do another show, she'd only want to film her career. She told the mag, "We never do anything gossip-worthy anyway. My professional life is more interesting."

While it seems like Lauren's post-"Hills" life has gotten even more fabulous, she's still incredibly appreciative of her role in the series. "Without [the show], I'd still be working in fashion, but I wouldn't have my own line. I'd have a much smaller apartment--and a lot less clothes."

For the past few weeks, Lauren Conrad has been busy traveling the world, promoting her sophomore book Sweet Little Lies and hanging out with long-standing boyfriend Kyle Howard. After wrapping up her tour Sunday, the ex-Hills star headed back to Cali and made a surprising stop at NASCAR's Sprint Cup in Los Angeles (not exactly the type of place we'd expect to find the glamourpuss!).

One thing's for sure: LC knows how to dress, no matter what the occasion. She looked effortlessly stylish (and NASCAR-appropriate) in this lightweight frock, paired with tousled hair and Ray-Ban Aviators. Check out these hot shots of her day of thunder, plus read her tweet below to see what she thought about standing on the sidelines.

Lauren Conrad is glowing on the March cover of Seventeen magazine, but it's the story inside that's attracting all the attention. In between promoting her new book (and discussing what first attracted her to reality TV), LC is shocking readers with a startling confession: one of her ex-boyfriends on The Hills was a two-timing cheat!

"Oh, I knew back then when I was being cheated on," she told Seventeen. "But I overlooked it. The more confident me has come to the point where I’ve finally realized it’s not something that everyone does. And it’s not okay to have your guy hook up with someone else. You deserve better."

Obvs, we're glad to hear LC's moved onwards and upwards (to devoted bf/practicing monogamist Kyle Howard), but we can't help but wonder: which former Hills-era squeeze had the wandering eye? We've rounded up a list of the usual suspects, so take the poll and tell us who you think did the dastardly deed!

Lauren Conrad may not have invited Speidi to her B-day bash (a 75-person fete at The Roosevelt in L.A.) this year, but that didn't stop her longtime frenemies from sending a virtual birthday message.

Earlier this week, the Pratts joined true blue LC pals like Lo Bosworth, Steph Pratt and Whitney Port in sharing their good wishes via Twitter. And we gotta admit, their tweets were actually quite sweet! (Though we're not sure Spencer was being 100% sincere when he told his longtime nemesis she was "missed.") Anyhow, check out all the birfday love LC received from her Hills fam, plus read our rhyming recap of Lauren's most memorable moments.

UPDATE: Whitney Port didn't just hit up Lauren's partay -- she also posted her own Happy Bday tribute to LC on her blog. Check it out, after the jump.

As soon as rumors of Whitney and Brody's (supposed) hookup hit the web, everyone had one thing on their minds: What would Lauren Conrad think? True, she hasn't dated Brody for years (and has happily moved on to My Boys star Kyle Howard), but as Whitney's close, personal friend and Brody's ex-turned-confidante, LC's got two options: wave this off -- or see it as one big (and extremely public) betrayal. So how will she react? Assuming Whit and Brody ARE the real deal, does LC have the right to be pissed? Take the poll!

After ringing in 2010 with her Hills gals, Stephanie Pratt and Lo Bosworth, Lauren Conrad decided to kick off the post-New Year's celebration with a romantic vacay! Ready for some R&R, LC and Kyle Howard (her serious but rarely-seen boyfriend of about 1.5 years) jetted off to Mexico for a relaxing weekend of lounging by the pool/sneaking kisses on the beach. Little did they know they were actually in full view of the paparazzi! Head to PopSugar.com to see pix of the pair enjoying some one-on-one time below the border, and tell us whether you'd like to start seeing more of LC's undercover guy.

Tomorrow night, the whole world will be watching as Kristin Cavallari moves into Lauren Conrad's old Hills 'hood, but LC says she has zero intention of tuning in for K-Cav's reality return.

"I haven't been following [The Hills] and we don't really talk about it in the apartment, so I don't really think about it," Conrad told E! Online last week at an Alice + Olivia event. And as for Audrina Patridge's new spinoff? Lauren says she'll be passing on that one, too -- but only cuz she makes it a policy not to watch programs starring peeps in her social circle.

"I don't like to watch people I know on TV ... it's weird," added the retired reality star. "Even friends of mine that are actors, I don't like to watch their shows. There's just something weird about it."

And while we're not sure whether that rule applies to LC's actor-slash-boyfriend, Kyle Howard, it apparently won't stop Lauren from keeping tabs on former West Coast bestie, Whitney Port. "I'll watch The City," she promised MTV News crews last Sunday night at VH1 Divas.

Heidi Pratt took Hills fans by storm with her nearly-naked Playboy spread, but she's not the only Hillzie lookin' to show off her curves. For the second time in two years, Lauren Conrad's on the cover of  Shape magazine -- and her interview's almost as revealing as that orange string bikini she's wearin'!

According to Shape.com, LC knows exactly how settling down with someone can lead to unwanted weight gain. In fact, she even has a name for it! "I call it the 'boyfriend layer'," she tells the mag. "[Kyle and I] were having more romantic dinners out, and I was exercising less."

But where there's a will, there's a way. And, the way Lauren sees it, where there's a boyfriend, there's a built-in gym buddy! "I just ask Kyle, 'You feel like working out?'" says the Hills star. Her rationale? "It's way more fun than hitting the gym alone!"
