Aside from Joe Zee and Freddie Fackelmayer's dad, it's been a stretch trying to find one guy on The City who treats our favorite ladies with the kindness and respect they deserve. Case in point: Whitney's dinner date with Abbreviation Boy (above) and Roxy's run-in with that Hugh Hefner wannabe (below).

Are we missing something here? Last time we checked, Whitney and Roxy still looked like supermodels -- and acted much smarter -- so why's it been so hard for them to land a guy who isn't a total d-bag?

We know, we know. We sound a little angry, like maybe dating life isn't going so well for us either. And if that were true, all we could really do is throw up our hands and yell, "I am soooo much better than this crap!" (But we won't, cuz that would be really disruptive to the other bloggers in the office.)

Since our most effective form of deflection tends to be asking everyone else's opinion, let's put it to a poll. You tell us: Are Whit and Roxy (and possibly Lisa) doing something wrong to attract all these losers?

A picture's worth a thousand words, and this week on The City, it was all about the body language. From Whitney eyeballing her blind date (like, did he seriously just say "LV!?) to Erin squirming at the dinner table, there were plenty of screencap-worthy moments tonight! Come join us as we recall a few of our favorite ones...

1. Whitney breaks bread (then breaks out her wallet!) with Bergdorf's Boy.
Fun fact: Her jaw's been permanently dropped ever since Patrick name-dropped "5F" and asked her to "join forces" on the bill. Talk about making a big first impression!

2. Erin looks on fondly as Olivia nails the photo shoot.
If tightly crossed arms, a clenched jaw and an intense stare-into-nowhere don't say "understated pride," then we don't know what does! Sheez, Erin, why don't ya just stamp "I Heart Olivia" on your forehead next time?!

3. Roxy tells Zac exactly how she feels about him!
Guys love it when you're straight-up with them -- but they hate talking about their feelings. So if you're looking to let someone down easy, we'd recommend the "double finger." It's a great way of saying "I'm just not that into you" without all the talky talk. (Trust us, he'll thank you later!)

4. Erin enjoys a delicious meal with her teammate, Olivia!
If you really wanna impress your bosses, remember: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! Instead, just look crazy stressed, stuff your face and try not to wince every time someone says "Olivia." Works every time!

5. Olivia slightly over-exaggerates her hip-hop expertise.
Note to Liv: Real hip-hop aficionados don't twist their hands into pretzels and say things like, "A Tribe Called Quest? Never heard of 'em!" Next time, nod confidently, stroke your chin and say "Yeah, I really liked them -- til they blew up and went all mainstream."

Joe Zee may be Mr. Important at Elle, but as far as bossing people around goes, he's kind of a softie. Not only has the giggly admin given Olivia Palermo at least a zillion redos, but he's also politely ignored Erin Kaplan's smirking habit -- and taken next-to-no notice of the ladies' constant sniping. So we were thrown for a little bit of a loop tonight when Joe (finally) emerged from his non-confrontational cocoon -- and scolded Team Erivia with all the fury (but none of the f-bombs) of a cray cray Kelly Cutrone.

So what'd you think of Joe's unexpected outburst? Well, after we got over the initial shock of seeing the stylish supervisor explode, we silently applauded him for taking charge -- and for holding BOTH Liv and Erin responsible for dropping the ball. Much as we love watching the man giggle, we'd rather see him put an end to all the pettiness by giving his girls a stern ultimatum: either find a way to work together, or find somewhere else to work!

+ Think Joe Zee's tongue lashing was too little too late? Or were you floored by the creative director's moxie? Take the poll and tell us what you thought of Joe's bitchy blowup on The City!

What's next for Whitney Port? Well, now that she's back to being single on The City, we figured she'd have lots more time to spend sketching, doing extra credit assignments and getting herself back on Kelly Cutrone's good side. But based on these scenes from next week's City, it'll be all Whitney can do to keep her job.

Next Tuesday, a misunderstanding between Whit and Roxy gets the girls into about-to-be-fired territory with the scary boss lady. Meanwhile, Olivia and Erin's constant bickering has Joe Zee ready to crack the whip! In this video, find out whose jobs (and friendships) are in serious jeopardy, plus get a sneak peek of what happens when you incite the wrath of Kelly Cutrone.

It's easy to be jealous of the new girl (especially when she's smart, stylish and extremely well-connected), but Erin Kaplan told the L.A. Times blog she's not threatened by her coworker/City costar Olivia Palermo -- she's just not that impressed by her, either.

"I think that when you start anywhere you kind of want to embrace the people around you," Erin said. "When I was new, I wanted to get to know everyone in every department. [But] I felt like [Olivia] was focused on accessories and that was it. That’s not really how it is at a magazine or anywhere."

So what are some of Olivia's strengths? Well, clearly there's her ability to work a cocktail party (note: it helps when you're already "friends" with everyone in the room), plus Erin admitted Liv has "great personal style" and said Joe Zee hired her because "he thought she was talented and had a good eye." Don't get any ideas about the two girls being friends, though. "Obviously, Olivia and I don't get along," Erin went on.

Fortunately, Erin seems to have clicked better with the rest of her City costars. "I really like Roxy [Olin]," she said. "I think she’s very funny. She’s very self-deprecating ... She’s fun to be around. Yeah, I’m a fan of Roxy’s. And as for Whitney Port? "She's very level-headed," Erin praised. "I adore [her]."

Joe Zee's puttin' Olivia Palermo's reporting skills to the test on next week's City, but how good is Elle's Creative Director at getting his own answers? Since we've only witnessed one of his interviews on the show (you know, the time he introduced 'Liv to Erin Kaplan?), we dug up this Elle.com clip of the Zee-man showing off his special -- and somewhat giggly -- brand of interrogation. Watch the lovable style star crash an open casting call for Carrie/Samantha wannabes while channeling his inner David Beckham. Hey, who says fashionistas can't play ball?!

Last week on The City, Erin Kaplan wore her disdain for Olivia Palermo like a Lady Gaga VMA outfit. Elle's Director of Public Relations (and owner of the worst poker face in the history of passive-aggressive publicists) was clearly rooting for 'Liv to fail, no matter how hard the silver-spooned 'social'-turned-Accessories Editor shvitzed to impress the Zee-Man.

Our hope at the time was that Erin would have come around by this week's episode and shown a little more tact and professionalism when dealing with Olivia. Turns out, Erin kinda broke our heart.

We know, we know, Olivia's no angel. In fact, it wasn't too long ago that she was all Bossy McBosserstein with Whitney at DVF. Thing is, 'Liv's been behaving quite well since her 'eff this' outburst on the City premiere, and Erin only appears to be getting pissier. Sooooo ... is Erin the new Olivia? And an even bigger and burninger question: As 'Liv stays classy amidst an ocean of she-devils in Prada, can Erin reign in her spite and rise above this petty rivalry? Or is this one steely career girl who can't be broken? Tell us what YOU think!

We've liked The City's Erin Kaplan since the second she stepped into Joe Zee's office and sized up Elle's new intern Accessories Editor, Olivia Palermo. The mag's Director of Publicity is sharp, put together and doesn't take any crap. That said, 'Liv's been doling out a lot less crap lately, and Erin doesn't seem to be into giving second chances.

We're not sayin' Olivia didn't deserve to be outright fired for her "f**k this" outburst in the fashion closet, but that was sooo two weeks ago, before she found out that having a job involves teamwork and mutual respect. And since 'Liv pretty much knocked that A-Z challenge out of the park, we were expecting Erin to seem somewhat relieved ... instead of disappointed. (Like, stick-a-fork-in-my-eye disappointed.)

Hmm. Does Erin actually want Olivia to fail? By the looks of it, that'd be a big fat yes with a cherry-red Balenciaga on top. But because we think giving second chances is super important, we're gonna hold off 'til next week's episode of The City to make our final decision. Erin, do us proud...

Kelly Cutrone's always had Whitney Port's back. But next week on The City, Whit makes a mistake by listening to Roxy -- and stepping out on Kelly with Sammy's boss at Bergdorf's. Hey, good thing Kelly can (sometimes) be forgiving! Meanwhile, Erin Kaplan and Joe Zee have another scary discussion about Olivia's job (surprise, surprise, Erin wants her gone!) while Liv admits she's not loving her new home at Elle. So watch these scenes from Tuesday night's City and keep your fingers crossed -- looks like Whitney and Olivia need all the help they can get.

We never would've taken Olivia Palermo for a super spy, but last night on The City, she successfully infiltrated the Chinatown smuggling ring -- and helped take a bite outta crime by bringing back some very convincing Balenciaga fakes! In fact, the social was such a stealth secret agent, we're wondering if she she should quit her day job and start working for the feds full time! Below, the top three reasons we think Liv has a future in the spy biz.

1. She's got a damn good poker face. 'Member when Liv took almost all the credit for that Jessica Alba Elle cover Whitney styled? Well, not only did that little bluff score her a promotion at DVF -- it also landed her on Joe Zee's radar -- which, as we all know, eventually led to a shweeeet staff position (Accessories Editor!) with Elle. What can we say? The girl's got game.

2. She's tougher than she looks. Listen up, you fake Gucci-wearing purse-peddlers! Not only is Officer Olivia gonna blow the lid on your whole (counterfeit) operation, she's also gonna haggle so hard that you're practically paying HER. Yep, pretty badass for a gal who's getting reimbursed by the company, anyway.

3. She has no problem wearing a wire. It doesn't take a criminal mastermind to spot a goon-turned-informant. The reason? It's not so easy to talk naturally when everything you say is being recorded. Fortch, Liv's got a secret weapon: she's a reality TV star! Go ahead, mic her up, put the whole thing on camera. Ha! As if that'll rattle 'er!
