When we met RJ Berger last week, we learned that he's got a mega crush (among other mega-things) on study buddy/school hottie Jenny Swanson. While we hope RJ gets everything he wants in life, we think he should consider giving his good friend Lily Miran a chance -- she's a little wild, but in a lovable way. So in honor of Miss Miran, we've compiled a list of our five favorite platonic onscreen girlfriends.
LIZ LEE in "My Life As Liz"
Her Buddy: Sully
Why Their Friendship Rocked: Liz was a totally awesome social outcast that found a phenomenal friend in Sully. Together, they dressed up as finger foods and even danced at prom. Sully truly showed how much he cared about Liz when he tried to help her win over her crush, Bryson.
GRACE ADLER in "Will & Grace"
Her Buddy: Will
Why Their Friendship Rocked: While they were very different (he was organized, she was a total mess; he was gay, she was straight), they knew when to intervene in each other's lives and (try to) help out. Even though they sorta-dated in college, their completely platonic adult friendship was arguably the healthiest thing they had going on.
PAM BEESLY in "The Office"
Her Buddy: Jim Halpert
Why Their Friendship Rocked: Up until "Casino Night" in Season 2, Pam and Jim were merely coworkers that shared the same dry cynicism and offbeat humor. Their tag-team office pranks made them an unstoppable duo, which of course, is what brought them together.
ELAINE BENES in "Seinfeld"
Her Buddy: Jerry
Why Their Friendship Rocked: These ex-daters-turned-best-friends had a completely comical friendship. During every season, Elaine struggled to find an acceptable male suitor, which is hard to believe given her 'extraordinary' dance moves. As embarrassing as she was, Jerry always stuck by his gal pal.
WATTS in "Some Kind Of Wonderful"
Her Buddy: Keith Nelson
Why Their Friendship Rocked: Watts was a badass tomboy that played the drums and had a huge crush on her best bud, Keith. She masked her feelings and dutifully marched onward in the "friend" role ... until the very end of the film, when Keith realized he loved-loved Watts. (And then he famously regifted a great pair of diamond studs originally intended for popular girl Amanda Jones' ears.)
