It's been a while since we've heard an update on Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner's relationship status, but lo and behold, the (rather odd) couple was spotted yesterday at LAX, surfboards in tow, as they prepared to board a flight to Hawaii with Jenner's mom.

Who woulda thunk these opposites would ever attract, not to mention stay together throughout the course of nearly one year? Not us, but then again, we never quite understood why Brody and Jayde Nicole lasted as long as they did. Here's to unpredictable pairs everywhere--may you continue to intrigue us with half-assed airport disguises (see above) and mushy tweets!

The days of Brody and Jayde Nicole are long gone (he's happily dating Kristin Avril now), but that doesn't mean the long-legged Playboy Bunny is curling up at home in her PJs waiting for him to come back. Recently, the former "Hills" castie glammed up a quintessential California outfit at Runway magazine's Summer 2010 issue party. By slipping on some funky jewelry and heels, Jayde turned her simple barely-there cutoff shorts and black tube top into clubwear.

On tonight's episode, Brody dragged his new lady friend McKaela to Janes House, which according to him, was the first time he ever brought a girl out with his "Hills" crowd (um, hello Jayde?). Unfortch, no one was excited to meet the newbie. In fact, moments after Kristin awkwardly introduced herself, she ejected out of her seat and joined Lo, Stephanie and Audrina for a little gossip sesh. It was like watching the popular kids in high school launch mashed potatoes at the new girl in the cafeteria. Poor thing!

Before Brody Jenner got inked with current girlfriend Avril Lavigne (or hooked up in a crop top with ex-girlfriend Kristin Cavallari) he dated Jayde Nicole, the always-dramatic Playboy Bunny from Season 5. Lately, we haven't seen much of her on the show, but that doesn't mean she's stopped making the red carpet rounds.

Over the weekend, Jayde attended the Playboy Playmate of the Year party in Las Vegas. She wore a silver metallic barely-there dress with layers and layers of chains (there might even be more metal links than fabric).

AUDRINA
Why She Was Good For Him: She got under Jayde's skin and totally knocked the bunny off her tail, so that alone justified the scandalous Hawaiian hookup.
Why She Wasn't: She only pretend-slept with Brody to get back at Justin, which was totally lame on her part.

KRISTIN
Why She Was Good For Him: K-Cav's always been a ride-or-die kinda chick and even stuck by Brody's side when spastic Jayde got all gangsta in her face. Plus, Brody admits that he'll always have feelings for her. (Aww.)
Why She Wasn't: She's stood on the sidelines for too many of Brody's love-tangled fiascoes, so even though his momsers totes wants her in the fam, it might be too late to get back into the ("vanilla") sack with him.

LAUREN
Why She Was Good For Him: Lauren was one of the few girls that got Brody to expose his chivalrous side.
Why She Wasn't: She always downplayed their relationship, constantly claiming that they were just friends. By the time she finally admitted that they were seeing each other, he'd peaced out.

WHITNEY
Why She Was Good For Him: Whit's a tough fish to catch, and everyone likes a chase. Even after getting smoochy with Brody in Vegas, she told him to back up.
Why She Wasn't: Whit probably would have been able to stand her ground had they dated, but their relationship never went beyond a (presumably) sloppy kiss.
