Whitney Port was surrounded by the press last night! Not only was she the guest-of-honor at Seventeen magazine's October issue release party, but everyone was asking what's to come in the second installment of her hit series. Check out these pix of the City cutie hangin' with new friend (or was that frenemy?) Roxy Olin and Season 1 pal Samantha Swetra, plus head to MTV News for more party pics and the scoop on Whit's new and improved work attitude (courtesy of her mentors, DVF and Kelly Cutrone).

+ Rewatch the City trailer and get your DVRs locked and loaded! The City returns Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 10:30pm ET/PST.

First came rumors that Whitney Port was heading back to People's Revolution. Now we're hearing (unconfirmed) goss that Olivia Palermo's got a brand-new gig over at Elle! According to Page Six's sources, Liv's leaving Diane von Furstenberg to work in Elle's publicity department.

Natch, it's all speculation for now (Palermo's rep hasn't heard anything, MTV reps say Olivia's "still working at DVF" and Elle had "no comment"), but we kinda, sorta love the idea?

Although we're also slightly confused. Did Elle's HR department somehow MISS the episode where Whitney did 90% of the styling for the Jessica Alba cover shoot and got 0% of the credit? Just wonderin' ...

When Whitney Port glided down the Hills Season 4 finale carpet in a tiered, burgundy Diane von Furstenberg gown, we envied her style, sophistication and straight-out-of-a-fairytale elegance. And apparently, we weren't the only ones. As Latina.com recently pointed out, former supermodel Helena Christensen wore the same getup to a charity event a few months later. So who wore it best? According to Latina's readers, Whitney did! Those fun, floral accessories helped her beat out belted beauty Helena with 67% of the vote! Way to go, Whit!

Yesterday, we saw Olivia Palermo skipping around town with her Marc Jacobs shopping bags. Today, she's taken her MJ obsession a step further: posing for pics with the designer himself! Check out these fab shots of Liv looking voluptuous in violet -- and awfully cozy -- with DVF's competition.

Meanwhile, peep these pics of Erin Lucas rocking a flowy, tutu-like skirt earlier this week. From the looks of those perfectly tousled tresses, this gal clearly travels with her own portable wind machine. Either that or she just wakes up naturally gorgeous. (Given our lifelong battle with the frizz, we prefer to believe the former.)

Despite the wide array of fabulous prints, hippie headbands and waist-minimizing wrap dresses at DVF, it appears one of our City girls has been finding her designer wares elsewhere. So who's the traitor? Find out, after the jump!

As much as we love Kelly Cutrone, we're not sure how we feel about rumors that Whitney Port's back in biz at People's Revolution. True, things aren't perfect at Diane von Furstenberg (think forced holiday cheer and stolen Elle covers), but we think Whit needs to stick it out -- and beat co-worker Olivia Palermo at her own game. Which is why we've come up with five reasons Whitney should stay on Team Diane:

1) Whit's gorgeous Hills finale ensemble proved that she was MADE to wear head-to-toe DVF.

2) Olivia needs someone to roll her eyes at ... besides Nevan. C'mon, even HE has his limits.

3) Diane needs more inappropriate deets about her employees' personal lives. And excuses to act like Oprah/bust out crazy love metaphors about fire and wind and stuff.

4) Kelly Cutrone isn't exactly BFF with Whit's City crew. Which is kinda what happens when you go up to a complete stranger (i.e. Allie) and tell her she's "too skinny."

5) Whitney promised LC she'd give Olivia the smackdown. And when that finally happens, we need to be there. With popcorn. And DVR, so we can watch it every day.

Remember when Olivia Palermo outmanuevered Whitney Port in order to land that sweet stint at DVF's London office? Well, despite Whitney's promising pep-talk with Diane von Furstenberg (you know, the one that motivated Whit to dump Jay, focus on her career and beat Liv at her own game), rumor has it the City girl's ditched her digs at DVF -- and run back into the waiting arms of former boss-lady, Kelly Cutrone.

If you're planning on accidentally running into your iconic boss at the next company party, ya better dress accordingly. Whitney Port, always the smartypants, made sure she was wearing this hot DVF ensemble (Alice dress in stores April, paired with Staedtler jacket online now) when she bumped into the woman behind the label. If Whit hadn't randomly vommed all her personal biz, the surprisingly sentimental Diane V. may have even given her a second shot at not becoming The Girl Who Didn't Go to London.

As I’m sure y'all know, there are several ways to eat an Oreo. The totally boring way is to chomp the whole thing in one bite. Another option is to separate the cookie, leaving the frosting for the post-cookie coma. Yet another way is to scrape the creamy parts from multiple Oreos and throw away the cookies because they’re really nothing more than a frosting delivery service.

What does all this have to do with the season finale of The City, you ask? Well, just when I was beginning to feel like The City had been giving us a lot of cookies and no creamy frosting, the finale revealed that they’ve been saving ALL of the frosting from literally THOUSANDS of Oreos for the end of the season. Detox verdict: delish!

With unmatched style and poise, Whitney tied up all the loose ends of her season arc, putting Olivia in her place, giving Jay a swift kick down under and even getting some serious face time with Diane Von Freaking Furstenberg! This episode had more girl power than a Tyra Banks talk show featuring a duet by Posh Spice and Miley Cyrus.

Whitney, Olivia, Allie and that other girl: It’s been one hell of a ride... Too much frosting. Gonna puke.

In a scene straight outta Mean Girls, Whitney Port sure looked sweet as sugar as she extended an uncharacteristically sarcastic Season's Greetings to our fave frenemy, Olivia Palermo, on last night's episode of The City. Not only did we like Whit's sassy new 'tude, we just lurved the matching Marla Bis Top (compliments of DVF of course!) she chose to wear.

(Note to self: You don't need another top. Put the credit card back in its wallet. I mean it.)
