During an interview last week with MTV.com, Charlize Theron tried to come to grips with The Hills' wide-reaching popularity:

"So I watched a couple episodes. I was doing a world tour at the time, so I watched them in a couple languages. I realized that this f**king show is huge. Now I'm going to ask you a question: Why? ... This is a free country. Freedom of speech! You can tell me right now to my face that Reindeer Games was a piece of sh*t. That's totally fine. But The Hills is about nothing!"

So was LC offended by the movie star's remarks? Nah... truth is, she's not really sure what the show's about either. And wasn't "nothing" the premise of the late and great Seinfeld?

And while she hasn't submitted to watching every episode just yet, Charlize relays some interesting info about Hills fandemonium abroad. Apparently, the Germans just can't get enough of Lauren Conrad!
