With all that talk about babies and puppies and "wifely duties," Spencer and Heidi ALMOST made us forget about Mrs. Pratt's September Playboy cover (and steamy, TMI interview). But over the weekend, Heids reverted back to her party girl ways, celebrating the global launch of Stander by joining some of Hef's honeys for a sexy pole dance at the Mansion! After the jump, check out Heidi's naughty choreography (she didn't learn THAT from Britney Spears!), plus tell us what you think of her sultry slit dress.
Hate to say it, but the rave reactions to Britney Spears' 2001 VMA performance might've had more to do with her unique prop than her singing talent. Remember that honkin' snake? AfroBorike sure do -- it was their new dance partner at Thursday night's ABDC taping!
Earlier in the day, Marco Solis, a professional animal trainer, passed off a 9-foot albino Burmese python for the crew to use in their routine. But how did they learn how to work with it in so little time? Well, according to Marco, there's really no use in trying to train these kinds of reptiles. It just "gets used to being handled." Well, that's comforting. Kind of?
+ Sidenote: While he was there, I took the opportunity to ask Marco something I'd been wondering for a while: How do you spot a male from a female? Interestingly enough, "The male snake has a longer tail from anus to the tip so that it can hold onto the female while attempting to procreate," Marco explained. I guess real men have tails.
With the VMAs airing Sunday night at 9pm, America’s Best Dance Crew (airing at 7pm) will rightfully pay tribute to the legendary music showcase by challenging its remaining four crews to get inspired by some of the awards show's most memorable performances. For this special episode of ABDC, each crew will update a classic VMA dance-driven routine, plus kick off the show with an incredible group performance of ... well, we gots to wait to tell you that until later this week. For now though, g'head and munch on Episode 6's song selections:
AFROBORIKE "Slave 4 U" Britney Spears MASSIVE MONKEES "Tearing Up My Heart" *NSYNC RHYTHM CITY "Wall To Wall" Chris Brown WE ARE HEROES "Vogue" Madonna
After the jump, refresh your VMA memory by watching Madonna's "Vogue" performance from 1990! Read more...
Heidi Pratt may not have walked away with the Miss Universe crown last night but she may have stolen the show with her head-turning live performance. Her strategy? Sexy choreography, a barely-there wardrobe and infectious pop lyrics. And a routine that may or may not have been directly modeled after loosely inspired by Britney Spears, circa 2000.
+ Bonus: Before she hit the stage, Heidienjoyed a little fun in the sun with her hubby! Get a sneak peek at the sandy spread after the jump, and see more pix of the beach Bunny at MTV News.
Monday night's Teen Choice Awards was such a hot event! Some of my favorite stars took home surf boards for their talent, but let's see who rode the fashion wave on the red carpet ... and who totally wiped out.
I have to start with Britney Spears. She looked absolutely amazing in her sparkly, one-shouldered mini. She was glowing! The little black dress (a.k.a. LBD) is always in, and finding one that fits your personal style -- along with your shape -- can have STUNNING results! I've got another option for a little black dress in my line: take a look!
Leighton Meester wore a fun, black and white number with an envelope clutch, and finished it off with gorgeous red patent heels. She looked very pin-up and glamorous -- Meester really knows how to rock this summer look. I have a similar piece in my collection: check it out!
Emma Roberts looked fabulous in this chic ensemble. The beaded neckline adds a high fashion element that most Teen Choice attendees would probably shy away from. Roberts is not afraid to be bold. (If you're the kind of girl that wants to make a statement, then you'll love this look.)
See who made my worst-dressed list, after the jump! Read more...
Over the past three seasons, Dance Crew has celebrated Michael's, Janet's, Missy's and Britney's music -- and now we're finally ready for her jelly. Ring the alarm, y'all! It's time for Beyonce week! Similar to past artist-themed episodes, the crews have each been given a Beyonce song to perform to, plus Beyonce's issued out individual challenges based on each video's original choreography. Here's what you can be on the lookout for this week:
RHYTHM CITY "Sweet Dreams" - Must update "the Charleston," which is featured in the video.
WE ARE HEROES "Single Ladies" - Take the section of the video known as "the wind" and blow us away with their own version.
ARTISTRY IN MOTION "Diva" - Perform with chains incorporating the entire crew.
VOGUE EVOLUTION "Deja Vu" - Perform African-style dancing within their routine.
AFROBORIKE "Beautiful Liar" - Work exotic Shakira-like moves into the routine.
MASSIVE MONKEES "Work It Out" - Dance with hula hoops without accidentally dropping them.
SOUTHERN MOVEMENT "Jumpin' Jumpin'" - Bust out all the moves from the video with new creativity.
BEAT YA FEET KINGS "Crazy In Love" - 'Booty Pop' with never-before-seen flare.
If there's one thing Paris Hilton won't tolerate, it's tackiness (hence Desi's hasty dismissal). And since she wants a BFF whose taste "doesn't suck," she's giving everyone a quick refresher course in class. First up on her lesson plan? Teaching her besties how to exit a car in a miniskirt -- without showing everyone their Britney. Watch as Paris schools the gang in sophistication and tries to find out which of these party animals is a hungry tiger in disguise.
Despite an energetic performance last night, Team Milleniagot kicked off for the second time in ABDC history. (Insert obligatory "Oops, they did it again" joke *here.*) But, that wasn't enough to completely kill our Britney buzz -- or change the fact that last night's Britastic episode of Dance Crew was one of the HOTTEST. WE'VE. EVER. SEEN.
So which crews totally nailed this week's Britney Spears Challenge? And which ones damn near drove you crazy? Take our poll and tell us who had the flyest routine. (And no, that wasn't our not-so-subtle way of plugging the Fly Khicks.)
Before the taping of this week's ABDC, Phil Collins (Season Two's Fanny Pak) met up with a sharply dressed Shane Sparks and the always stunning Layla Kayleigh to pick their brains about tonight's Britney Spears-inspired challenge. And while they were both really excited to see how the night would unfold, Shane had a few things to say about the absent pop princess. Watch the video!
BONUS: If you look closely, you can spot ABDC veterans (and Phil's BFFs), Glenda and Tif, kickin' back in the judges' area before the show begins. Can you blame them for missing the good ole days?
It was yet another memorable taping last night as one of ABDC's biggest fans, Taboo, was on hand to watch this season's talent take the stage for the Britney Spears Challenge. And believe it or not, there were a number of performances that brought the Black Eyed Pea to his feet throughout the evening.
Season 2's unsung heroes, Fanny Pak, were part of the audience as well, finally getting the chance to watch Team Millennia in their element. (FP beat out TM during the casting special last season.) But one of the best moments by far came right after Quest Crew finished their routine. JC could only muster these five words: "Best performance of the night." Kinda cool considering he told the crew last week that he wasn't overly impressed with their choreography. Guess the Quest boys finally got 'in sync.' Ha!
