Brian Friedman shared with us earlier about the judging process: "The judges make a decision together, but it doesn't mean we're all in agreement every night. It's been a really hard choice both nights, and I really can't say that I've been happy with the outcomes."

To a typical audience, singing solo may look hard, but being part of a group effort can be just as difficult. We caught up with our Top Pop judges, Brian Friedman and Taboo, and asked them to weigh in on which style is harder. It was pretty clear to them that groups are very challenging; however, that's not to say solo life is a piece of cake...

What defines a Top Pop Group? We checked in with MTPG's judges before the taping of the show's premiere, and according to Taboo, Michelle and Brian, star quality is a must. It's not ABDC, but there sure as hell will be dancing. In fact, the judges got down Tuesday night during the first taping of MTV's Top Pop Group... right before they booted one unlucky group off the show for good. Moving forward, only fan votes will determine who leaves the show each week -- just this once our three-headed jury had to get their hands dirty. Taboo (Black Eyed Peas), Michelle Williams (Destiny's Child) and Brian Friedman (choreographer to Britney Spears, 'N Sync, Pink, etc.) are the trio of esteemed judges you're soon to hear lots from -- just try and steer clear of comparisons to their Dance Crew predecessors, Shane Sparks, Lil Mama, and JC Chasez. New show, new slate. (Sidebar: They always seem to sit the crazy one in the middle... why is that?)

Fun Fact: Brian was the dance double for Christopher Walken in Fat Boy Slim's video, "Weapon of Choice". Very cool.
