Big Sexy may not have Beyonce's dance moves but we thought he killed it tonight with "Irreplaceable." But while Diddy admitted Omotayo has pipes, he seemed a lot more concerned with the dude's weight! According to Puff? Omotayo needs to stop worrying about his voice and start worrying about his health. And while we'd love to see the big man in tip-top shape, we're not sure what Omotayo's size has to do with his ability to sing.
Think Omotayo's weight should be a factor in this competition? Or should the judges be looking solely at vocal ability, stage presence and charisma? Take the poll and tell us whether you think Omotayo needs to scale it down.
So what exactly DID the royal Pratt have to say 'bout all the awards show action? After the jump, check out a few of his best one-liners. Team Taylor, y'all!
We hit up the remaining three crews in rehearsals today to ask about the moments that stood out to them most. Check out what everyone had to say:
In reference to Kanye West's abrupt interruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, Massive Monkee Brysen Angeles commented, "As an artist you can't deny Kanye, but as a person ... what kind of person does that?" On the plus side, Brysen walked away from the VMAs a bigger fan of Beyonce Knowles, who later in the night stepped aside to allow Taylor her moment.
"[Lady Gaga] is too out there for me," We Are HeroesAli Iannucci told us. "I feel like she's trying too hard." A nearby Hiroka Mcrae added, "Beyonce was my favorite! Every time they showed her, I got excited!" But Hiroka had a similar reaction as Ali to Lady Gaga -- apparently the gory performance gave her nightmares!
Finally, AfroBorike's Miguel A. Reyes Santiago only had eyes for Ms. Jackson. "Janet's performance was great. She really did an amazing job," he said in mid-rehearsal.
You Tell Us: What did you think was the most memorable moment of this year's VMAs?
Y'all have been pretty vocal about wanting to see more backstage action of the crews, so I, your faithful ABDC servant, went on a mission during this week's dress rehearsal to gather every bit-o-behind-the-scenes footage I could find ... and then some! Check it out:
When we caught up with the crews at their Hollywood dance rehearsal space, they were still very geek'd out about their first performance on ABDC. Vogue Evolution, We Are Heroes and the rest of the dancers filled us in on what it was like when the lights came up -- and how much they're looking forward to this week's Beyonce Challenge.
Over the past three seasons, Dance Crew has celebrated Michael's, Janet's, Missy's and Britney's music -- and now we're finally ready for her jelly. Ring the alarm, y'all! It's time for Beyonce week! Similar to past artist-themed episodes, the crews have each been given a Beyonce song to perform to, plus Beyonce's issued out individual challenges based on each video's original choreography. Here's what you can be on the lookout for this week:
RHYTHM CITY "Sweet Dreams" - Must update "the Charleston," which is featured in the video.
WE ARE HEROES "Single Ladies" - Take the section of the video known as "the wind" and blow us away with their own version.
ARTISTRY IN MOTION "Diva" - Perform with chains incorporating the entire crew.
VOGUE EVOLUTION "Deja Vu" - Perform African-style dancing within their routine.
AFROBORIKE "Beautiful Liar" - Work exotic Shakira-like moves into the routine.
MASSIVE MONKEES "Work It Out" - Dance with hula hoops without accidentally dropping them.
SOUTHERN MOVEMENT "Jumpin' Jumpin'" - Bust out all the moves from the video with new creativity.
BEAT YA FEET KINGS "Crazy In Love" - 'Booty Pop' with never-before-seen flare.
No, Heidi and Spencer haven't filed for an annulment -- at least, not as far as we know. But the Hillzie (who recently changed her last name from "Montag" to "Pratt") has decided she'll now be ditching her last name altogether.
"In keeping with the great tradition of stars like Madonna and Cher who are on a first-name-only basis with their fans, I've decided to go by the name of 'Heidi,'" the au courant celeb recently told E! Online.
Great idea, lady! After all, nothing says superstardom like having a one-name moniker! Er, most of the time. Anyhow, here's to hoping Heidi moves past Sinbad/Moby territory and lands safely in Beyonce/Oprah range ...
We know, we know. After last week's episode of Making the Band 4, the future of Danity Kane seems more up in the air than ever. And since we're hopelessly optimistic, (our boyfriend calls it "delusional"), we've decided to keep the faith by listing the Top 5 Reasons Danity Kane Need To Work Sh*t Out.
Last night, a tuxedo-clad Barack Obamawaltzed his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, across the floor to the musical stylings of Beyonce -- who sang Etta James' "At Last" -- and the delight of the millions of Americans glued to their tv screens.
And while most of us took the opportunity to cheer on the new prez (GOBAMA!) and let our minds wander ("Is Michelle's dress off-white, ivory or eggshell?"), some eagle-eyed viewers were more concerned with Commander-in-Chief's dancing prowess.
This week's been full of ups and downs. We said hello to (the still-dreamy!!) Carson Daly, goodbye to TRL and watched our fave stars from the past 10 years brave the screaming fans in Times Square one last time to send the once-beloved show out in a blaze of live music glory.
And since the MTV veejays, the fans and the performers (like Beyonce, 50 Cent, Fall Out Boy and yes, the Backstreet Boys) put on such a brave face, we've decided to celebrate the last-ever week of TRL by posting these amazing performance clips from Total Finale Live. Check em' out, plus catch our all-time fave "Top Ten" countdowns after the jump.
Oh, and feel free to dance in your seats (and/or break out the "I LOVE YOU, CARSON!" signs) one last time. It's what TRL would've wanted.
