With "Battle of the Exes" premiering Wednesday, we couldn't help but think about other former celebrity couples who might benefit from being teamed up together. Perhaps by spending time in close quarters, they could finally work through the bad mojo that split them up in the first place and rekindle the happier times. Or even better, entertain us with the nonstop drama that would surely come from being forced to live together. Here, six ex supercouples we think should appear on the show.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
These two only managed to stay married for 72 days, so how long would they last as teammates? (We think 72 minutes.) As for how they would fare in the competition, Kris is a big dude--not to mention a pro-baller--so he would have a definite height advantage over the other guys, but Kim's diva attitude would probably get them sent to the The Dome right away.

As we reported earlier this month, the former "Hills" hunk and his pop star girlfriend went splitskies. Since their friends have said a reconciliation is possible, competing on "The Challenge" could be just what they need to bring them back together. In our dreams, the duo would square off in The Dome against Brody's other famous ex, Lauren Conrad, and her former flame Jason Wahler. Imagine the drama!

The world came to a standstill earlier this month when it heard that larger-than-life celebrity couple Katy Perry and Russell Brand were a done deal, and no one ever anticipated a breakup between MTV "it couple" Whitney Port and Ben Nemtin, but for all the tenuousness of Hollywood relationships, we really thought "Hills" playboy Brody Jenner and pop star girlfriend Avril Lavigne would go the distance. Sadly, though, the young couple publicly called it quits yesterday after two years.

Jenner and Lavigne officially broke up last week, according to Us Weekly. Sources told the publication that the two hadn't been happy together in awhile (we had a hunch when we saw the pair's noticeably "blah" photos from a Paris vacation) and finally decided to end things despite those pesky permanent tattoos. Apparently, different career directions amounted to the main breakup catalyst, but now A and B will have plenty of time to plot their next business ventures.

+ Are you surprised by Bravril's split? Sure, they seemed very different, but two years is nothing to sneeze at. Insiders haven't ruled out a reconciliation in the future, but what do you think: Will they eventually find their way back to each other?

It's pretty hard to picture Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne involved in a bar fight, but the photo above speaks for itself. The story over who actually started the brawl varies, but Avril was left with a black eye and Brody's face was clearly bloodied. On Monday, the couple's fans on Remote Control and Facebook posted reactions to the violence--here's a sprinkling of what they said:

The City of Lights couldn't awaken excitement between Brody Jenner and his longtime girlfriend, Avril Lavigne, but a bottle smashing over the former's head somewhere in the "Hills" of Hollywood seems to have done the trick!

According to Us Weekly, the couple known for matching their hair with apparel found themselves in the middle of a bar brawl at the Roosevelt Hotel in L.A. this weekend, and when the Brodester saw his girl on the receiving end of several knuckle sandwiches, the occasional hero stepped in to save the day. Tragically, he was rewarded with a bloodied face and a shower of shattered glass. Apparently, things got so rough that he was left with some stitches and fresh scar tissue, while Avril suffered a black eye, bloody nose and ripped-out patches of hair.

Bottle service is presumably a standard for these two. Broken bottle service? Not so much.

Check out some photos of what happened only hours after a battered Brody tweeted: "Having the best night with the love of my life @AvrilLavigne. So happy right now!" Uncool, L.A. aggressors. Uncool.

Couple Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne are noticeably blah in The City of Lights.

Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne, who cemented their love long ago with tattoos bearing the other's name, strolled the streets of Paris today, but seemed to have left their good humor back in the hotel room. Maybe the beauty of the Eiffel Tower really pissed Avril off? Perhaps the romance of the Champs-Elysees didn't particularly do it for the Brodster?

Either way, it's nice to know the pair that nobody gave a shot in hell is still going strong overseas. If you'll recall, Avril is not a Playboy Bunny type (and, thus, what Brody usually goes for), and Sk8er Boi, Jenner ain't. Celebratory Louvre keychains!

We never pegged Brody Jenner as the type to color-coordinate his clothing with another person--especially a girlfriend--but then again, we never pegged him as the type to date Avril Lavigne. Last night at the punk-pop singer's release party for her fourth album, Goodbye Lullaby, the intriguing couple went an unexpected yet totally eye-catching route with their fashion choices--Brody sported a fluorescent green tie that almost exactly matched the streaks in Avril's 'do.

We have to say, there's something kinda cute about it. Even though The Brodester refuses to smile.

Also at the shindig were Brody's stepsister, Kim Kardashian, and her new basketball player beau, Kris Humphries. Thankfully, Kim had already disposed of her own experiment with Lite-Brite neon hair.

It's been a while since we've heard an update on Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner's relationship status, but lo and behold, the (rather odd) couple was spotted yesterday at LAX, surfboards in tow, as they prepared to board a flight to Hawaii with Jenner's mom.

Who woulda thunk these opposites would ever attract, not to mention stay together throughout the course of nearly one year? Not us, but then again, we never quite understood why Brody and Jayde Nicole lasted as long as they did. Here's to unpredictable pairs everywhere--may you continue to intrigue us with half-assed airport disguises (see above) and mushy tweets!

Wanna get "MADE" into a rock star? Just Kait singer Kaitlyn DiBenedetto knows a little something about that. Born and bred in New Jersey (a.k.a. The State That Springsteen Put On The Map), Kaitlyn borrowed her dad's drumset at age five, picked up her first guitar as a pre-teen and started slappin' da bass ("I Love You, Man," anyone?) before the rest of us had even passed Drivers Ed. By sweet sixteen, her punk pedigree also grew to include songwriting, and she scored her first big break when her song, "U Suck," was chosen as the new (and appropriately named) theme song to MTV's dating disaster series, "Parental Control".

So what makes this girl different from all other aspiring Avrils? That'd be her edge. After you get past Kaitlyn's wholesome, girl-next-door looks (think Amanda Bynes), you'll notice she's actually rockin' some razor-sharp vocals (think Joan Jett). Her femme, Fall Out Boy-style single, "Heart Shaped Bruise" is more Pixies punk than Selena sweet, and her steamy cover of "Hot Stuff" is enough to make Miley Cyrus and the Disney Dream Team blush.

Now at the ripe old age of eighteen, Kaitlyn's already released her first EP, Being On TV (Again), seen her new single, "Sick," tearin' it up on E! and landed a killer track ("Girls World") in "MADE, The Movie" (slow down, girl!). We learned yesterday that apparently sporting matching lightning bolt tattoos isn't enough for lovebirds Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne. Recent photos of their new ink -- tats of each other's names -- emerged earlier this week, causing us to shiver in fear. Not that we're rooting for the couple to break up (everyone deserves to be happy, right?), but we're always weary when people scribe names of loved ones on their bodies. What happens if/when things go down the crapper? (Remember when Lauren Conrad got a "J" for Jason Wahler and had to change it to an "L" when they broke up?) So, in the event that the two need to redo their tattoos, we have some suggestions for them:

Change AVRIL to FAVORITE
All Brody would need to do is place an "F" in the front of her name, squeeze in an "O", cross the "L" and slap on and "E" and he'd have the word "favorite." He could add whatever word he wanted after it, like the name of his next girlfriend.

Change BRODY to LABRADOR
Granted, Avril would have to go out and get a labrador dog, but that's a heck of a lot easier than staring at the name of an ex-lover right under your boob. We also recommend lasering off the D and Y to spell BRO, because we all know how much Brody loves a good bromance!

We're getting pretty damn close to the series finale, and it looks like a happy ending may be in store for Lo (an engagement?) and Stephanie (a new man?) -- but not so much for the star of the show, Kristin Cavallari.

On tonight's second-to-last episode (EVER) of "The Hills," Brody broke his friend with benefits' little sister's heart by telling her he'd moved on with another woman. Of course, we all know the identity of this mystery girlfriend by now, but the news totally came out of left field for Kristin. Judging by her tear-filled eyes during lunch with Lo, it was a slap in the face that brought about lots of regret. What if she had opened up her heart to Brody earlier? If she'd been up front with him from the start, would he be tweeting his love for her instead of for Avril Lavigne? Tough to say, so we'll put it to a vote and let you guys weigh in:
