During last week's 16 and Pregnant: Life After Labor finale special, most of the moms expressed gratitude for their beautiful babies, yet also shared a certain disappointment over missing out on being carefree teenagers. Whitney, visibly melancholy about her struggle to raise a happy, healthy child, admitted to us after the taping that she never expected her life to turn out this way. Watch the video clip below to find out how the pressures of real life have replaced the fun she once had as a kid.

In different ways, every girl's story during this first season of 16 and Pregnant left a permanent mark on us. Between Whitney's struggle for independence from her family and Maci's difficulty with getting her boyfriend Ryan to step up as a dad, we couldn't help but wonder how each of their lives turned out. Luckily, show producers felt the same way and decided to fly in all of the proud parents (along with their adorable babies!) last week to tape a reunion special (16 and Pregnant: Life After Labor airs next Thursday at 10pm).

Also to our delight, MTV.com was able to get some extra time with the couples in between filming the show to ask our own burning questions. There was lots of laughter and celebration, but their were also some quiet, more melancholy moments that made a few of us rather emotional.

Check back here next Thursday night, immediately after Life After Labor, to see this exclusive video -- and in the meantime, get a sneak peek at one of our interviews with Maci and Ryan, in which she explains how she broke the news of her pregnancy to him.

In response to some online feedback questioning why 16 and Pregnant's Whitney did not breastfeed Owen, she's written the following response to clear up any misconceptions...

What some of you may not know is that I actually did breastfeed -- I just didn't feel comfortable breastfeeding on camera.

Breastfeeding is great for mothers. You would not believe the incredible bond it gives you with your newborn. I breastfed until Owen was two months old but had to stop when we were making trips to the hospital and the doctors were trying to figure out why he was sick. They encouraged me to stop breastfeeding so they could put him on a formula called Elacare, which was supposed to be better for his stomach.

When the doctors found out that Owen had a liver disorder, they said it had nothing to do with the breast milk or formula. But my milk had already begun to dry since it had been over two weeks since I could breastfeed.

I encourage breastfeeding. It takes LOTS of commitment and it's not for everyone I guess. But props to Ebony for trying -- just two weeks of it is better then none. So my advice if you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant is to consider breastfeeding because it's something that only YOU can give your baby, and it's great for them. Thanks =]

On tonight's 16 and Pregnant, we met Whitney and Weston, two young adults up against a lot of hardships on their journey to parenthood. Thankfully, their living situation has now improved -- yet the worrying hasn't stopped altogether. Below, Whitney catches us up on her and Weston's life with Baby Owen...

I have to say, being pregnant made me a better person -- I'm way more considerate of other people and what they're going through. The world doesn't revolve around me! At the same time, I've also learned not to care what people think.

Being filmed for the show was a very different experience and took some time getting used to. Strangely, it made me notice how softly I talk because the crew was always saying so.

I felt self-conscious about my looks a lot -- my face was so swollen and chubby at the time. I didn't even want see myself on the show! At times, I also felt like it portrayed me as a 'redneck. I guess my family can be at times, but I'm not. I'm like the black sheep of my family.

There were times I just wanted the cameras to go away, like when things got really hard and I was hurting real bad ... or when my memaw was embarrassing me! But on the other hand, I'm glad I decided to be filmed because when my son and baby brother get older they can watch this and look back.

Since taping wrapped, things have been really good. We moved, we're getting a car soon and I'll be starting college this year! Unfortunately, I cant seem to find a job, but other than that life has been great!

Weston is a wonderful father. He helps out, but it's basically me taking care of Owen full time -- like I'm the one who gets up at night and everything. But Weston helps me when I need him :)

Sadly, Owen has a genetic liver disorder, so I worry about that a lot. When I was pregnant, I never even considered that something could be wrong with him. Still, he's just like a normal baby but his liver will swell up from time to time.

There are things I wish I would have done better throughout my pregnancy, like eat healthier and stressed less, but overall I'm really happy with the decisions I made, as well as where we're at now.

It takes a big man to step out of his teen sneakers and into the shoes of a young dad. And we couldn't help but notice that Weston handled the job with dignity and grace on tonight's 16 and Pregnant. So to Wes we say, "Well done!"

Plus, we're not the only people impressed. Check out Whitney's update on how she and Weston are dealing with being new parents and tell us what you thought about their journey of starting a family!
