This week’s episode of The Hills was very Whitney-centric, which really isn’t a bad thing seeing how we here at Team Spencer lurve Whitney (minus that whole friendship with LC thing). It just leaves little to discuss about our main man.

When he did get camera time, Spencer’s scenes generally revolved around his sister, whether it was talking to Heidi about Lauren’s presence at the birthday party or letting Steph know he still has zero interest in hanging around with her as long as she remains friends with LC.

During the latter, he was pretty much cold as ice to his kid sister, even with her coming over to his place bearing a gift. And you know what? I applaud him for sticking to his guns. He’s made it clear multiple times the way he feels about Steph's friendship with LC, and if Steph really thinks that a book called The Secret History of the CIA -- no matter how fascinating and engrossing (Joseph Trento, feel free to pass along some cash my way for the plug) -- is going to butter him up, then she’s sorely mistaken. Steph, if you want to show Spencer you care, ditch Lauren already... it’s that easy.

I checked the Message Boards earlier and it seems that everyone who watched this week’s Hills is only focused on Spencer’s so-called "bad behavior"; but here at Team Spencer we like to look at the bigger picture. I’m gonna switch up the format a little today and do a breakdown of Spencer's best and worst moments of the week. At the end of the evaluation, we’ll tally up the points and have some hard evidence of how Mr. Pratt performed.  Shall we get started?

Dinner at Don Antonio’s: Always the prince, Spencer showed he's a great boyfriend by ordering Heidi her favorite dish (+1). He also demonstrated his willingness to compromise, by agreeing with Heidi when she said he should go to his sister’s birthday even though Lauren would be there (+1).

Total: 2 good points, 0 bad points

Steph’s Birthday Party: Spencer showed up with a ton of balloons, a very nice gesture considering how his sister's been treating him recently (+1). Also, please note that it’s actually Brody who first stirs up trouble and makes a scene. What does Spencer do in response? Absolutely nothing (+1).

So, he was batting a thousand, but then came the “obnoxious girls” comment (-1).

Total: 2 good points, 1 bad point

By the end of episode, Spencer earned a total of 4 good points and only 1 bad. I think he’s really come a long way since Season 2. Much more mature, and much more understanding, but of course there’s still some work to be done.

And yes, I realize I completely jumped the part where Spencer stopped by Steph’s apartment to "chat," but how would I assign points? He has every right to be mad at his sister -- it makes zero sense that she’s friends with Lauren. If you try and take Steph’s side on this, I’ll see you in however many weeks when you hate her for going out on a date with Doug behind Lauren’s back (as hinted right here).

Until next week, Team Spencer is out!

Watching The Hills premiere Monday night, I couldn't help but be reminded of the late 70's sitcom, Three’s Company. Or was it Three's a Crowd? Allow me to explain...

When the trailer for the fourth season of The Hills came out, I took it with a grain of salt. Trailers are almost always misleading and I knew not to jump to any conclusions when I saw Spencer getting pissed about Heidi’s sister staying at their apartment.

Most people probably viewed the clip and thought that Spencer was being a jerk, but I knew there had to be a reason why he was getting so mad, and after watching Monday's episode I realized that my suspicions were right on the money.

Off the top of my head, I can list several things that would send any boyfriend into a bigger rage blackout than a guy from the Jersey Shore who just found out he’s out of hair gel:

It’s almost August, which means The Hills Season Four premiere is only a few weeks away. I just watched the trailer on MTV.com and was pleased to see that Spencer will be very involved in the first few episodes…

Based on the way the trailer is edited, Spencer decides to cut off his sister entirely after her b-day party. It seems a little extreme until you realize that LC basically invited herself –- and ends up getting more love and attention from Stephanie than her own brother does. Just my opinion, but for someone like Lauren, who always acts like she’s taking the moral high road, it’s moments like this that say otherwise.

The other big Spencer moment I’m psyched to see? Kicking Heidi’s couch-surfing sister out of the apartment. I’m sure most of you will be quick to say that Spencer is being unfair, but if you’ve ever lived with someone whose family thinks it’s totally cool to crash your pad indefinitely, you know he’s got every right to be pissed off about the situation.

Anyway, Season Four looks like it’s going to be one for the Guinness Books. Spencer: I’ve got your back, bro, and we’re gonna take this one step at a time…

Till next week, Team Spencer is out!

It’s been about nine months since I last posted. A few times I really got Hills fans' blood boiling, and in honor of the upcoming Season 4 premiere (August 18), I figured now would be a good opportunity to stir the pot again.

First, I have to say, The Hills has had some pretty random twists as of late. It just doesn’t make any sense that Lauren and Steph Pratt are friends. What's next: Whitney getting drunk and streaking across Area night club?

Regardless, through all the chaos, my boy Spencer continues to remain the show's anchor. Spencer has endured two seasons of people hating on him, but does he let it get to him? No. Does he ever complain about his portrayal as the show's villain? Well, maybe a little, but if you ask me, he's gotten a raw deal and handles it with dignity.

Come on everyone (David Letterman, you included), put down your pitchforks for two seconds and give credit where credit is due. Spencer Pratt, you’re a genius, and my hero. It’s time someone backed you up, and that someone is going to be me. Stay tuned for more...
