LS3 are "real artists," says the group, and they're pretty bummed America won't have a chance to see what they're really capable of doing on stage. That being said, MTV's Top Pop Group is a competition and someone had to go home -- and luckily for Jazmin it wasn't them... tonight, that is. During this first week of preparations, the nine Top Pop Groups competing got a very special star coach to guide them along. Philly hip-hop princess, Eve, dropped by the rehearsal space to check out all the groups' singing and help them polish off their stage numbers. Each of them soaked up her advice, and Eve appeared to love helping everybody out with their process.
Every week a new celeb coach will guest star on MTV's Top Pop Group, and we'll be making sure you hear directly from them, right here on Remote Control. Watch the video below for some one-on-one time with the inspirational Eve!

It's not ABDC, but there sure as hell will be dancing. In fact, the judges got down Tuesday night during the first taping of MTV's Top Pop Group... right before they booted one unlucky group off the show for good. Moving forward, only fan votes will determine who leaves the show each week -- just this once our three-headed jury had to get their hands dirty. Taboo (Black Eyed Peas), Michelle Williams (Destiny's Child) and Brian Friedman (choreographer to Britney Spears, 'N Sync, Pink, etc.) are the trio of esteemed judges you're soon to hear lots from -- just try and steer clear of comparisons to their Dance Crew predecessors, Shane Sparks, Lil Mama, and JC Chasez. New show, new slate. (Sidebar: They always seem to sit the crazy one in the middle... why is that?)
Fun Fact: Brian was the dance double for Christopher Walken in Fat Boy Slim's video, "Weapon of Choice". Very cool.
No one ever said becoming MTV's Top Pop Group would be an easy feat. Each group is quickly learning the hard way that singing and dancing all day long is no walk in the park -- it's more like running a marathon around the city. Remember your first photo shoot? The bright lights, the professional hair and makeup people, the cool clothes... wait, I've never done anything like that before. And neither had the nine Top Pop Group contestants until yesterday. These guys got their first exposure to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood when they were given the star treatment before the show's big photo shoot. Watch the video to see their amazing transformations!

The nine groups chosen to compete on Top Pop have been working overtime this week to make sure they aren't the first ones to get sent home Thursday night.
Ju-Taun were humbled Monday as they got pushed around their rehearsal space by the show's vocal conditioning coach, sent there to make sure they can all sing in key while working up a sweat. What appeared to be pretty basic exercises actually became quite a challenge for most of the group -- they lost their breathe while jogging in circles! Maybe Ju-Taun should cut down on their favorite hobby (see video below)?

MTV's Top Pop Group is gearing up for its big premiere Thursday night (10pm), and we got a chance this week to check out rehearsals and get to know these guys a little better. First up: NJ5ive, the ever-so-suave male group here to represent their home state of New Jersey and show the country that you can "come from nothing and still make something of yourself."
These boys have two things on their mind at all times: music... and the opposite sex. Watch Sha's big reveal... just for the ladies:
