Rev Run rocks his trademark Adidas tracksuit and flashes a peace sign on the red carpet.
Let's keep it real, folks. Life isn't always a bed of roses, and a week without one bad day included is pretty rare. But guess what? You made it to Friday in one piece! It's time to celebrate your next two days off from the grind, and we've got just the thing to get you into Zen mode: the best of Rev Run's social media wisdom!
On "Run's House," the reverend spread his wisdom from the comfort of his tub, but since the show's conclusion in 2009, the modern-day self-help guru's taken to the Twittersphere and Instagram to wax poetic on life, love and family. Check out a few of our favorite motivational posts of the week, then kick back, relax and be happy.
Quality over quantity, people.
Angela Simmons and her ex, Bow Wow.
Famous people are said to live in a bubble, so when it comes to crossing paths with their equally famous exes, it's bound to happen often. Especially when both parties are in the same line of work! Angela Simmons, formerly of "Run's House" and "Daddy's Girls," is joining forces with her old flame, Bow Wow, to co-host BET's "106 & Park" starting today, through Friday at 6/5c, and we can't wait to see the public reunion. But don't expect a "Battle of the Exes"-type showdown between the two -- since the breakup, Angela and Bow Wow have remained good pals. "Been riding with each other 9 years and counting #realfriendship," she recently Instagrammed about their relationship. Hmm, we hear real friendship is the foundation for true love... Wishful thinking?
While this is not Angela's first appearance on the hip-hop countdown show (check out the segment below, where she gives her two cents on Grammy night fashion), this is the first time she'll be sharing the stage with the series regular. Wish her good luck, and make sure to tune in to her co-hosting gig this week!
The Simmons family. Now that's a framer!
For six seasons, The Simmons gave us an unfiltered glimpse at their daily lives on
"Run's House." And although Angela and Vanessa have since left the family's lavish pad for the Hollywood Hills (as documented on MTV's "Daddy's Girls"), several remaining members of the clan still reside at the New Jersey estate. Problem is, the place is falling apart.
HGTV recently announced that a series based on The Simmons giving their famous digs a facelift will premiere in 2014. In our wildest dreams, we never would have imagined this fam at the center of a home improvement show, but as the reverend always c0nveys through inspiring quotes on Twitter, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." Oh. Whoops. That was Forrest Gump, huh?
"Can't wait for everyone to see it .. Talk about funny ?? Lol!!!!!!!!," Rev Run tweeted about his NINE THOUSAND sq. foot home renovation project. As long as it has a nice bathtub for end-of-day reflection...
+ We've got some time before the show hits, but in the meantime, start off your weekend right by checking out Rev Run's latest online wisdom, and tell us if you're looking forward to seeing the Simmons' family's return to TV!
Every day should be Thanksgiving.
Rev Run at a "MANOLOGY" book signing.
Whether he's penning a hit rhyme or reciting words of wisdom to his brood on "Run's House," Rev Run has proven time and again that his insightful rhetoric speaks to the masses. And now you won't have to search his twitticisms to find all his quote-worthy advice -- it's finally all in one place, thanks to his new book, "MANOLOGY."
The successful family man paired up with R&B singer and single father Tyrese to provide a true perspective into the male psyche from those who know it best: men! The dating decoder serves as a manual for women who want to comprehend how the opposite sex communicates (pretty sure that means all of us, right ladies?), but it turns out that even guys like Pauly D can't put it down. "I'm locked IN on this book #MANOLOGY" he tweeted.
If something can get Pauly to take time from the turntables and knock out a few chapters, consider us interested! Check out a snippet of the perfect guide to guys here.

Angela Simmons and Snooki demonstrate MTV's far-reaching family tree.
This morning, as we were deleting reading all of our emails, we came across this darling photo of Snooki and former "Run's House" resident Angela Simmons. Snooks, who was fresh off her role as The Insider's investigative Grammy correspondent, grabbed a chair next to her MTV cousin during last night's bebeBLACK show at New York Fashion Week. Was this an act of a smart seating guru, or were these two Jersey girls (yup, Ang is from The Garden State, too!) desperate to compare notes about the gorillas in attendance? Who knows, but their outfits certainly complement each other.
Could this be the start of a beautiful friendship? Let's review the facts: Both gals apparently like cobalt, two-toned 'dos and Bebe, so it seems they have similar taste. As expert photo examiners, we think Snooki and Angela have enough in common to warrant a joint shopping spree at the mall. Wonder what Rev would have to say about that...

Watching Vanessa and Angela Simmons now, it's hard to believe they're the same girls who fought with their younger sibs (and, well, each other) back on Run's House. And while some things never change ('member the Danielle debacle on Daddy's Girls?), these days the sisters are living large as best friends, roomies and co-founders of Pastry!
Check out how far the Simmons gals have come since their MTV debut and tune in tonight for the Season Two finale of Daddy's Girls!
Okay, so Angela wasn't exactly ready to tear up the turntables tonight, but that doesn't mean we've seen the last of DJ Mouse! With a little hard work and dedication, Rev Run's daughter might learn to rock out without the use of the preset button. And we plan to be there (with camcorders) when she finally shows off her skillz.
In fact, we can already see it now: Rev Run (dressed head-to-toe in Pastry) could introduce his daughter, DJ Mouse, while she spins her brother's latest Team Blackout record to a sold-out crowd of Run's House/Daddy's Girls fans ... at Vanessa's next film premiere!
Hey, maybe there really IS something 'bout those Simmons genes!
When it comes to anniversaries, Angela and Vanessa don't mess around. Which is why they plunked down a hefty $15,000 deposit, hired a top-notch event planner and spent a boatload of Benjamins to have their big bash at a trendy nightclub (with frou-frou drinks and a live fashion show!). Think the girls went a little overboard? Or was their over-the-top runway show a smashing success? Take our poll and let us know whether the girls' splashy anniversary party was a retailers' dream-- or a My Super Sweet 16 nightmare!
Everybody loves puppies! They're like tiny, huggable real-life stuffed animals that actually DO things (like bark incessantly and poop on the stairs)! And nobody loves four-legged friends more than the Simmons' pooch, Pal. Next week, watch as Run's House goes to the dogs (wook at Miley wid da widdle puppy!) and JoJo cooks Vanessa and Angela a Cajun-style meal they won't forget.
We've already seen JoJo tear it up in Team Blackout's new vid, "Gotta Have Her." But even Rev Run was blown away by JoJo's freestylin' (oops, sorry, PAIDstylin') skillz on tonight's Run's House. Think dude's got a chance of making it big as an MC? Take our poll and tell us how you'd rate JoJo's rapping!
