Nev And Max Tease ‘All Kinds’ Of ‘Dark’ Cyber Scenarios For ‘Catfish’ Season 3 [Video]

Past seasons of “Catfish” have followed a consistent pattern: A guy or girl is in love with someone they met online, but due to a wide-ranging set of suspicious circumstances, the pair have yet to come face-to-face. Nine times out of ten, one person is pretending to be someone they’re not. Enter Internet superheroes Nev and Max to uncover the truth about said person’s identity, using plenty of tools and tricks up their sleeves. A similar formula applies to Season 3 of the MTV hit series, but this time around, no type of deceitful relationship is off limits.

In the interview clip below, the online detectives explain how they’re “changing things up” this time around, and diving into any and all possible “Catfish” scenarios.

“We looked at all the different ways in which people can get taken advantage of, manipulated, cyber-bullied,” Nev explains, adding that the series will feature “all kinds” of subjects, even family members duping one another.

“Basically, once you leave the realm of romance, things take a turn to the darker side,” Max says.

But the guys don’t necessarily see eye-to-eye when it comes to whether there are still new frontiers to be explored.

“At this point, I think it’s pretty safe to say that we’re numb on the inside,” Max admits in the second clip, below. “Nothing can really faze us. No awkward situation is too awkward. No story is too weird.”

“I disagree,” Nev chimes in. “I think some of the stories we saw this season definitely shocked me. You saw I lost my cool a couple of times. I got really angry, so did you,” Nev says, before revealing that Max stormed off because he was enraged by some of the behavior displayed by the catfish.
