MLB Crush Monday: Five Reasons Why We Love Washington Nationals Outfielder Bryce Harper

There’s nothing like staring at a man in uniform to kick off the work week, right? In honor of MTV2′s new series, “Off the Bat from the MLB Fan Cave,” every Monday we’re putting the spotlight on one of the sexiest sluggers in the game. Here, overall stats, batting averages and team standings don’t completely dictate whether or not a player gets picked — see below for five reasons why this week’s pro made the MLB Crush Monday cut!

Professional baseball player Bryce Harper.

To kick off our MLB Crush Monday series, we’ve chosen “Off the Bat”‘s first in-studio guest, Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper. You’ll have a chance to catch Bryce in action tomorrow night at 11/10c during the premiere, but in the meantime, here’s why we’re crushing on this MLB man candy:

1. He is “Baseball’s Chosen One.”
Sports Illustrated also called him “Baseball’s LeBron James.” At 21, Harper has quickly become one of the most valuable players in the MLB — and we like winners.

2. His heavenly head of hair.
From a funky faux-hawk to a trendy pompadour, Bryce can pull off any hairstyle. No helmet head here!

3. His bangin’ bod.
We’ll let this picture speak for itself.

4. He has a bad-boy ‘tude.
The Sin City native was slammed for blowing a kiss to the competition after a home run, and while his cocky attitude may be off-putting to some of his opponents, the ladies tend to love a man with a little edge.

5. He loves out loud.
Though it’s a bummer Bryce is taken (he’s been dating his hometown girlfriend, Kayla Varner, for a few years now), we swoon over the fact that he’s so smitten. “Nothing like hanging out with my love during spring training…so happy she’s finally here!” he recently tweeted. Aww…a bad-boy with a heart of gold!
