Even The Happiest ‘Catfish’ Couples Reveal Their Relationships Have Fallen Apart

S1Update

Sure, the first season of “Catfish” came with more downs than ups, but every now and again, the show struck gold by uniting couples who were genuinely pleased to see each other. Dani and Kya? Mike and Felicia? Partners like these were proof that love born online doesn’t always lead to disaster, but in a recent series of Twitter updates, even those who surprised Max and Nev with their happy endings said that they’re completely out of touch with their former flames. Good thing we have a second shot at this…

Unsurprisingly, Jasmine and Rose revealed they haven’t been in touch with Mhissy or Joe, respectively, since the show ended (Rose went as far to tweet that Joe was “bad news”). It wasn’t a huge shock either to learn that Sunny’s relationship with Chelsea was as “dead as a doornail,” but Dani, whose spark with Kya was undeniable, said “we’re no longer together. Sh** happens. People change.” And Mike and Felicia, who demonstrated they had the potential to go the distance on the finale, are “nonexistent” as a couple, Felicia posted. “People change unfortunately and sometimes you just have to cut your losses. He’ll always have a part of my heart,” she went on to say.

On a positive note, one of the show’s most popular couples, Matt and Kim, are still very much a part of each other’s lives, and seem to have beaten the post-”Catfish” curse. “We are planning on trying to meet up again whenever we can!” Matt updated. Maybe they’re still just friends, but we suspect it’s only a matter of time before they come around…
