We all did a double take (and suffered whiplash, consequently) when Jenelle Evans of “Teen Mom 2” pleaded with her probation officer to postpone her jail sentence so she could attend a Ke$ha concert. It was a puzzling request for someone so eager to mend her reckless ways, but it turns out that type of fierce loyalty and, er, sass are qualities the glitter queen hopes to find in her fans.
In this “Woodies” exclusive video, Ke$ha says she prefers performing for the crazy, uninhibited college crowds like the ones that’ll be present in Austin for mtvU’s annual awards event. (No word yet on whether Jenelle can make it.) The electro-pop singer explains that when putting on a show for coeds, she gets to witness a whole different kind of performance from her spot onstage. “They’ve been sitting in class all day and all they want to do is get out and make out with some hot chick,” she says of the audience’s YOLO antics. “There’s all the wildness in the world happening and it’s really infectious energy.”
Clearly, Ke$ha and her college fans are kindred spirits, as we’re bound to see when “My Crazy Beautiful Life” premieres April 23 on MTV. But first, don’t miss the 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards, Sunday, March 17 at 8/7c on MTV & mtvU, featuring performances from Zedd, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Twenty One Pilots, coming at you from SXSW!
