Topanga’s 8 Most Maternal Moments On ‘Boy Meets World’ [Video]

Parenthood doesn’t come with a written manual (just ask the teen moms and Snooki), but even as a young girl on “Boy Meets World,” Topanga Lawrence showed us just how nurturing, responsible and caring she could be — a clear sign that she’d one day make an amazing mother. I mean, where would Cory and Shawn have been without her guidance, right? So, as we anticipate getting to see Topanga taking on her mommy duties on “Girl Meets World,” we’ve decided to recap her best teenage MOMents from the series.

Season 1, Episode 4: “Cory’s Alternative Friends”
In Topanga’s first appearance on the series, she teaches Cory a lesson about the importance of individuality with the help of a little lipstick and some interpretive dance moves. Her independent spirit will come in handy when her children are struggling with peer pressure in their teens.

Season 2, Episode 7: “Wake Up, Little Cory”
When Topanga and Cory find themselves at the center of a school sex scandal, Cory’s fine to roll with the rumor that the two slept together, but Topanga insists he set the record straight to preserve her reputation. This just further proves she’ll be an excellent example for 11-year-old Riley, who will soon be dealing with similar middle school issues.

Season 2, Episode 18: “By Hook or By Crook”
When Cory is home sick with Mono, Topanga brings his homework over so he won’t fall behind, but not without scolding him for catching the kissing disease. “Cory Matthews, who have you kissed?” she asks him in the clip. You know you’re in trouble when the full name comes out!

Season 3, Episode 6: “This Little Piggy”
Like most kids, Shawn decides he wants a pet, but when he opts for a pig over something easier to care for, Topanga urges him to return it. When he doesn’t listen, she backs off and lets Shawn learn a lesson the hard way. Sometimes parents need to let their kids make their own mistakes!

Season 4, Episode 11: “An Affair To Forget”
Topanga steps in when a pretty girl tries to bully Shawn into ending his friendship with Cory. She stands up to Jennifer in the clip below to save the boys’ epic friendship. If she’s like this with her friends, can you imagine what mama bear Topanga would do if someone tried to mess with her cubs?

Season 5, Episode 19: “Eric Hollywood”
When Jack and Shawn get the chicken pox, Topanga immediately takes it upon herself to selflessly care for the boys, no matter how frustrating it may be. Unconditional love and caring like that is a must for any mother.

Season 5, Episode 24: “Graduation”
The fact that Topanga graduated at the top of her class as valedictorian of John Adams High School shows that even at a young age, academic excellence meant a lot to her.  You know she won’t let her kids slack on homework!

Season 6, Episode 24: “My Baby Valentine”
In this scene, Topanga takes it upon herself to plan a special baby shower for Cory’s mom (and her future mother-in-law), Amy, despite it being Valentine’s Day. She put family first even before they were officially family! That shows dedication.
