‘True Life’ Check-In: Louie Doesn’t Miss His Horns And Salome Loves Her Curves

Today’s “True Life” explored the stories of two people who got unusual plastic surgery to alter their appearance.  We had an opportunity to check in with them and find out how their lives have changed since filming wrapped. Take a look at the follow-up Q&As below.

LOUIE
How is your forehead healing?
It’s healing really well. I don’t notice the changes as much as other people do, but I think that’s because I see myself in the mirror everyday. I’m excited to see what my forehead will look like in another few months. I’m really happy with the outcome of the surgery as of right now, so any improvements from here on out will be that much more satisfying.

Do you miss the attention from your horns? Or are you happy with a more subtle appearance?
I honestly don’t miss the attention I got. It’s been amazing to be able to go out in public without getting a ton of questions. I still get stopped and asked questions, but it might be once or twice a day–not 20 or 30 times. I also realized that the anxiety I used to get has gone away since I had the surgery. I’m definitely enjoying my new look!

What was it like sharing your story with us?
Sharing my story with “True Life” was fun and odd all at the same time. It’s not a normal thing to wake up one day and start sharing your life with cameras. Even though it was a little strange, I had a ton of fun and wouldn’t hesitate doing it all over again. The whole crew was fun, kind, down to earth and made me feel at ease with the whole experience.

SALOME
Are you still enjoying your new figure? Has it changed the way you dress and act?
I love my new figure! My curves have definitely given me a new sense of confidence. I get compliments on a daily basis from both longtime friends and complete strangers. I don’t think I act differently, I just carry myself more confidently. The way that I dress hasn’t been affected much either because I still fit into most of my clothes. I did have to go jean shopping–some of my old jeans didn’t fit my new bottom. The jeans I get now must have some stretch to fit over my small waist and bigger butt.

Do you have the plastic surgery bug? Any plans to get anything else done?
While I’m a proponent of plastic surgery for cosmetic issues, I don’t have the “surgery bug.” I loved my results and am happy everything turned out better than expected, but I am not running out the door to get more work done–at least, not right away. To combat the signs of aging in the future? Sure! why not? But I think I will stick to minimally invasive procedures like Botox.

What was it like sharing your story with us?
Sharing my story was almost therapeutic. Many of the questions my friends asked during the process were thought-provoking, and I hadn’t thought of them on my own. So, I am thankful I had lots of people around me, not only supporting my decision, but also helping me explore whether it was the right decision for me.
