Upon first meeting, Will Mackenzie seems deserving of some respect--he dresses like an investment banker, possesses a wide range of vocabulary and even combs his hair. Unfortunately, though, he's the new kid in high school, so he'll have to settle for the insane amounts of torment these traits will draw. The actor who plays Will in MTV's "The Inbetweeners," Joey Pollari, explains in the interview clip below that sometimes, a seemingly uneventful day as a teenager can be the toughest to survive, especially if you're a little...different.
"[Will] really thinks he's the best at what he does and he knows what's best," Pollari says. He describes his character as a "particular" guy with a plan to dig right into his school's academic life, and remain there until graduation. Instead, Will inadvertently gets stuck with a burnout, loudmouth and emotional timebomb for friends almost immediately after taking his first steps on campus, and his conservative course is suddenly thrown off track. "Will's first impression of the guys is that they're idiots--that he can do better," Pollari says. But hey, having some friends does save you from being labeled a total loser...
