The promise of a first date with Alyssa brought out an entirely new side to Brandon on tonight's episode of "Real World." Not only did her phone call and subsequent agreement to chill instill the guy with an unfamiliar amount of happiness, he used her acceptance as a launchpad for a larger discussion about self-esteem. Needless to say, Alyssa signed up for a lot more than dinner and a movie.
B-Town pulled out all the stops for his lady--he vacuumed, lit an absurd number of candles and even put on a blazer--so when Alyssa was a no-show, he felt reasonably embarrassed. But then he moped around and got s**t-faced with his roommates, which may or may not have been the catalyst for the following night's epic meltdown.
No one likes to be dissed, and in our "Real World: St Thomas After Show," the heartbreak kid opens up further about why the rejection hit him so hard. Brandon wanted to prove to the guys in the house that he could pick up a hot girl (even if she had ill-intentions), so when she flaked, he assumed that his buddies were laughing at him. "I am different from every dude in the house and I wanted to show them that I can play the same game they can play," he shares below. Luckily he has Swift to turn to for a shoulder, as Brandon's additional issues with drugs and alcohol call for a heavy duty support system.
