‘Savage U’ Nominated For VH1 Do Something Award

Obscenity connoisseur Dan Savage might have had our legal team working overtime, but each bleep seems to have been well worth it. For Savage’s and producer Lauren Hutchinson‘s efforts to enlighten university students on everything from relationship basics to convoluted sexual politics, VH1 has nominated “Savage U” for one of its Do Something Awards, and sh**! We couldn’t be fu**ing prouder…

The award show, which has honored the efforts of young community service activists since 1996, has pitted Savage against Animal Planet’s “Whale Wars,” CBS’ “Undercover Boss” and other series that aim for impact beyond entertainment in the Reality TV Category. The cast of “New Girl” will host the event, which airs on August 21, and while the evening’s support of activists surely outweighs the shine of any trophy, we will urge you to remember that “Dancing With The Stars” has not done right by us. You know, just something to consider when you’re voting…

+ Check out the full list of nominees, and tune in to the show next month for a refreshing do-good affair!
