A lot has changed in Beacon Hills since we were left wondering if Lydia would live past the first "Teen Wolf" season. She's still alive, of course, but the poor girl's now plagued by eerie visions of Peter Hale as consequence to his bite, Allison's knee-deep in the war between wolves and hunters (though it's still not clear which side she's fighting for) and bully Jackson became even more loathsome when it was revealed he was the dreaded Kanima that has been killing townspeople on the regular. And on top of all that, chemistry's still really hard (the fu**, stoichiometry?!).
Since we're halfway through the second season, we thought we'd help you ease into Episode 7 with a mini-recap. From top to bottom, and from the confirmed to the yet-to-be-discovered, here is what has happened on "Teen Wolf" so far...
Episode 1, Omega: Allison's grandfather showed up to town after Kate was laid to rest, but even Gerard's icy temperament (paired with a conversation at gunpoint between Scott and Chris) couldn't stop Allison from being with her boyfriend in secret. Jackson started to feel the effects of a bite he'd invited, but his "transformation" didn't seem to be going exactly as planned, and Lydia ended up naked in the woods--which we can pretty much confirm also wasn't planned.
Episode 2, Shape Shifted: BHHS student Isaac's father was attacked and killed one night by an unidentified creature, and Isaac was immediately deemed the crime's primary suspect. Scott realized the innocent lacrosse player was also a fellow werewolf one day at practice, and Allison and Stiles teamed up to stop the hunters from taking Derek's protege down once he was arrested and brought to jail. Jackson set up a video camera to document his maybe-transformation, and Allison and Scott got a glimpse of what might have been the same creature that took down Isaac's father.
Episode 3, Ice Pick: Chris started to train his daughter in some pretty drastic ways (kidnapping and torture routine before dinner, anyone...?) to prepare for the war between men and beasts. All the while, Derek started his own recruitment--tapping Boyd, a hulking but insecure loner, and Erica, an epileptic who was constantly embarrassed by her public seizures, as soldiers for his pack. Jackson lamented the fact that his bite hadn't yet made him a werewolf, but by the episode's end, he found the strength to lift a truck.
Episode 4, Abomination: The vet revealed to Scott that an index known as the Bestiary could contain helpful knowledge about the creature terrorizing Beacon Hills. Beyond help, on the other hand, was Jackson, who noticed two crucial hours of his transformation tape were missing. With the aid of the school's guidance counselor, the crew found out in school one day that the infamous creature was called a Kanima, which was in search of a "friend," but it was anything but agreeable when it attacked Derek and Stiles, the former of which was rendered paralyzed in the pool by the Kanima's toxin. Oh, and then this happened:
Episode 5, Venomous: Derek had theories about the Kanima's identity and tested Jackson by feeding him the Kanima's venom, which wouldn't affect the student if Derek's suspicions were correct. It did, though, and Derek moved forward with his next lead: Lydia. He sent Erica and Isaac to Scott's house to kill her, but Allison, Stiles and Scott fended the duo off while Jackson stood by Lydia. The Kanima shot out of the house after the skirmish, and a confused Lydia followed, unsure of what was going on. As the redhead was still very much a human, it became clear to all that Jackson was, in fact, the Kanima, and Derek's test was not fool proof.
Episode 6, Frenemy: Derek was tired of dealing with the Kanima and tried to off it one night in a parking lot. Chris and Gerard wound up at the scene and managed to stop the fight, but the Kanima wasn't done, and proceeded to paralyze Danny and other club-goers at a nearby bar. Chris found the creature and shot it, and Scott and Stiles locked their knocked-out classmate in a police van while they racked their brains for ways to help spare his life. Jackson got emotional when he overhead the friends' conversation, and almost immediately transformed, broke free of his restrictions and fled. Scott and Stiles decided it was finally time to come clean to their families about what was really going on, but once they got to the police station, Jackson awaited them, and they realized he'd told the authorities that Scott and Stiles had kidnapped him.
