We've seen it from Irene in Seattle, Erika in D.C. and Shauvon in Sydney--sometimes, when the going gets tough on "Real World," housemates pack it up and head home. Generally speaking, though, the red flags don't go up on move-in day, and when Brandon already seemed steeped in insecurity before he saw his first St. Thomas sunrise, it seemed like a solid indicator he might not be able to stick out his stay in the Virgin Islands.
This season's Boston representative was all smiles when he took his initial steps across the cast's own private island (seriously...?), but after some heavy drinking, his emotions came out. Brandon had a tough time watching Laura, his crush, flirt with Trey, and continued to lament how he'd fallen short of the "All-American Boy" benchmark in a drunken diatribe directed at Robb. And when Trey, Laura and Swift discovered Brandon's notebook, which spilled over with ominous sentiments, things seemed more dire than any of his new cast mates had expected.
