Whenever we're introduced to new MTV personalities, we can't help but reference casties from back in the day. Recalling the names, faces and unique traits of reality show peeps is all part of the gig here at Remote Control, so as soon as we received intel on the fresh batch of "Real World: St. Thomas" pledges, a few images from seasons past immediately popped into our minds. Take a look:
Laura = Erika
One thing we know about Laura is that she's about to encounter some serious boy drama in her new pad. She has eyes for her roommate, Trey, and while time will only tell whether or not they get together, she's already confessed that she'll be shedding many tears. You know who else was a bit of a cry baby? The Chicago-born singer from "Real World: Washington D.C," Erika. (Do we need to mention that they also look alike?)
Robb = Wes
Word on the street is that the 6'6" redhead soon to join the St. Thomas crew is super athletic and highly adversarial. And there's arguably no one more competitive in the World of Real than his ginger twin, Sir Wes from "Austin." It should also be noted that they both share a similar menacing glare. Yikes.
LaToya = Devyn
We've been told that LaToya is bubbly, charismatic and full of energy, so who better to match her up with than former Miss Missouri Teen and Miss America Teen pageant winner Devyn (from the "Brooklyn" season)? We're not sure whether LaToya will need to be the center of attention the way Devyn did, but the newbie does refer to herself as the HBIC. Hmm.
Trey = Mike
The starry-eyed Baltimore native that's soon to touch down in the Virgin Islands says he experienced an unfortunate rocky upbringing (his father was addicted to drugs and was in and out of jail). Trey's painful family ties remind us a lot of what Mike from "Las Vegas" experienced growing up. Like Trey, Mike's parents were involved in the drug world and served jail time as a result.
Marie = Trisha
The self-described "down ass bitch" may look similar to Kristin Cavallari, but her bio sounds a lot like that of Trisha's from "Real World: Sydney." The alum from Down Under was a free-spirited soul that loved to drink and flirt, which pretty much sums up everything we've read about Marie. The Staten Island chick claims that she once called in sick from work so that she could party, and is worried about how her parents will react when they see her boozing on TV. Little late for that!
Swift = Nick
Swift comes off as the ultimate charmer that wants to have a good time and is always concerned with impressing the opposite sex. We happen to know someone just like that, too! Nick from "Hollywood" was also an intense ladies man with aspirations of becoming a model. And look, they're both into wearing purple!
Brandon = Joey
Brandon's a lovestruck Bostonian (yup, he's got eyes for his roommate, Laura) that has gone to law-breaking lengths to make ends meet, primarily because he assumes financial responsibility of his mother and younger sister. But he also used to party hard and do cocaine. Now drug-free, Brandon's commitment to staying clean makes us think about Joey from "Real World: Hollywood." The troubled alum struggled with his alcohol addiction throughout his short-lived time on the show.
