MTV Execs On ‘Jersey Shore’ Season 6: The Evolution Will Be Televised

Nicole and her fiancé Jionni stroll along the boardwalk in Seaside Heights. Next stop: Bed, Bath & Beyond.

These are the facts: Snooki‘s pregnant, Mike‘s sober, Sammi and Ronnie are going strong.

Which leads to the questions: Is the “Jersey Shore” cast actually growing up, and do we really want that to happen?

One answer: Yes, you really do, says MTV’s executive VP of programming and head of production, Chris Linn. In an interview with EW.com, the man behind our network’s many hits, as well as “Shore” executive producer SallyAnn Salsano, make a strong case for why Season 6 could just be the most intriguing summer spent in Seaside Heights yet.

“It’s like a high school sex-ed video gone insane,” Salsano tells the website in reference to the jokes and baby mama drama currently circulating throughout the house. Perhaps that’s why the guidette recently grabbed her 18 suitcases and fled for…the rental next door? As Linn comments, “I know she’s concerned about the perception of her being a pregnant woman in a party house.” But that’s not to say the plucky meatball has gone soft: “She’s just as funny, if not funnier, than she’s ever been.”

We’re taking the execs’ words for it, and you should, too. Just look at the evidence.
