It's turned out to be quite an eventful day for Team Remote Control. First, we spotted the space shuttle flying over NYC (finally, a perk to working in a skyscraper), then we announced some exciting news for "Awkward" fans (you better have circled June 28 in your calendar!) and then ... (using ellipses here purely to build anticipation) a colleague told us that Brett Davern, better known as Jake, was going to be across the street during lunchtime, and if we laced up our motorcycle boots fast enough we might be able to catch him. So that we did, friends.
We spotted Brett on the second floor of Planet Hollywood (holding up the restaurant's signage, no less), and immediately grabbed a seat to see what, if anything, he'd tell us about his and Jenna Hamilton's Season 2 state of affairs. "Episode 1 picks up and Jake and Jenna are very much together; they are happy," Davern shared. "He knows nothing about Matty, so as far as Jake's concerned, he's ecstatic."
Clearly, Jake can't stay in the dark for much longer, and Davern confirms so by suggesting that Jenna's relationship with Matty will come to light fairly quickly. And it couldn't happen any faster for him, either. "For my own sanity as an actor, I can't wait until Jake can know about Matty," he says laughing. "It's getting a little tiresome playing that guy."
For the record, we think that guy is pretty damn cool.
