Week after week, Wes has managed to cut massive amounts of weight by the skin of his teeth to qualify for the cage. Tonight, though, the guy's partying finally caught up with him, and even though he's widely considered the most naturally talented fighter around, he was hospitalized for his last-minute attempts to downsize. The guy who can generally squeak out wins even after nights of boozing got the first verifiable sign that he's not invincible.
John Wesley, who's a workhorse in the gym, urged Wes to take his training more seriously. JW abstains from drinking when a fight nears, generally has only a pound or two to cut before an official weigh-in and is so committed to getting better that he's signed up for a training regimen that leaves him bloodied and battered each session. JW is certainly a good example of what hard work can achieve, and his big win against a tough opponent served as evidence. The question is, will it rub off on Wes?
+ What do you think--will John Wesley, one of the few guys who helps Wes spar in his backyard, have a positive effect on the fighter, or is Wes too stubborn to change and ultimately take his talent to the next level?
