Tonight's "True Life" explored the stories of two men who were registered sex offenders. Justin was convicted for having an intimate relationship with his underage girlfriend, and Terry wanted nothing more than to convince a judge that he wasn't a threat to society. We had an opportunity to check in with them to find out how their lives have changed since filming stopped--take a look at the follow-up Q&As below:
TERRY
What are you up to now?
I'm currently in a relationship, and we moved into our own apartment in Ocala. I have two jobs. I work at the Humane Society and at a bar as a DJ. I'm making good money now and saving it up for a car. My goal is to continue working at the Humane Society until I can become a veterinarian technician.
How is your relationship with Amanda?
Amanda and I are now talking almost once a week. We are definitely friends again and working on our past.
How has your life changed since you were removed from the sex offender list?
I moved to Ocala when I got my name taken off the registry. Everything has been going great. I haven't had any hassle from anyone. Granted, I still let people know what happened, but they don't give me too much grief now that I'm no longer registered.
What was it like sharing your story with us?
I wasn't the type to have cameras in my face constantly or be the center of attention, but I got used to it after the first hour of filming. I had a blast with the producers and hanging out with my friends.

How are you enjoying school?
School is going well for me so far. The people I have met seem to be very understanding of my situation. I try not to let my status affect my experience. However, with the stigma of being a registered sex offender hanging over my head, it is sometimes out of my control. There are many things I would more than likely not be accepted into, such as various clubs, organizations or fraternities as they would not like to give themselves a bad name.
Do you plan to continue your fight to get the bill passed?
I will continue to fight to get the bill passed because I feel that people in my situation deserve a second chance. It does not seem fair to give the harsh punishment of lifelong restrictions to someone who had consensual sex with another teenager so close in age.
What's next for you and Illinois Voices?
We are going to continue to work together and raise awareness. As soon as the bill is resubmitted, we will do our best to get it passed.
What was it like sharing your story with us?
I was very grateful to be given the chance to explain my views on the situation and to show the world what it is like to have to deal with the consequences of a consensual teenage relationship. Hopefully it will catch the eyes of the many people who are in those types of relationships and save them from making the same mistake I did.
