On tonight's "True Life: On The Mat," we met some young people that were were fighting to stay on top in the high school wrestling world. So how have they been doing since the show taped? Check out our Q&A updates below.
STEVEN
What have you been up to since the end of last season?
I enjoy spending a lot of time with my friends. Other than that, I work and live my life; I’m trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, and figure out where I want to go when it's time for college. Wrestling in college is a possibility. In the meantime, I spend all the time I can around board sports, taking trips to the mountains and jamming on the guitar!
Did you come back to Lake Stevens this year?
I did not go back to Lake Stevens this year and I am currently not wrestling.
What was it like to share your story with us?
It was great to share my story with y'all! Freddy, Adam and Alex are some wicked sick dudes!
JESSE
What have you been up to since the end of last season?
Working on winning a state title this year.
How have you been doing? Did you go up to a new weight class?
I wrestle in the 120/126-pound weight class.
What was it like to share your story with us?
It was cool, and it showed how we work as a team and support each other--it showed how hard we work toward a state title. I hope people understand that if you have a learning disorder, you can still do anything if you set your mind to it. I hope people understand our sport is just as tough, if not tougher, than football or any other sport.

How did your knee surgery go?
The surgery went well. The hard part was the rehab after the surgery. I spent the following nine months lifting weights and enjoying my time off.
Are you back in action now? If so, how have you been doing this year so far?
I was cleared to wrestle when the season started--the doctor said my knee was good as new. The first few weeks were very tiring. It took me a little while to get back in wrestling shape. So far, I'm having a great season. I'm 12-1 with eight falls and a tech fall. I'm currently ranked No. 2 in the state at 4A 126lbs.
And how’s the team doing?
The team is 6-1 on the year and starting to pick up steam. We just defeated the top-ranked and returning State Champion 6A team from Oregon, The Roseburg Indians finished fourth at the Tri-State championships. We were only four or five points out of first place. The team is working hard to win another state title.
What was it like to share your story with us?
Well, it was an interesting experience. At times it was a bit of a pain being followed and having everything filmed and recorded, but after awhile, I got used to the crew being around and didn't pay attention to what they were doing.
