Unless overweight teens are willing to take criticism and listen to instruction, there's only so much that a fitness trainer can do. Maintaining an interest in changing bad habits is a part of the weight-loss process, but as we've seen in many "I Used To Be Fat" episodes, not everyone is prepared --in the beginning, at least--to endure the mental hurdles that accompany their new lifestyle.
Check out a sneak peek of Tuesday's all-new episode, where we'll meet Janelle, an obese young woman whose mother is very protective. Her mom knows what it's like to be heavy--she was even diagnosed with diabetes--and thinks that being constantly reminded about looming health hazards is doing a disservice to her family. Hopefully she and her daughter can learn to be less defensive so the trainer can help them.

Ryan Dunn and Bam Margera on "TRL" in 2004.
While luck helped Ryan Dunn survive the dangers of his infamous "Jackass" stunts, a car accident tragically took the daredevil's life earlier this year. In remembrance of his time spent bringing gasps and laughs to his many friends and fans, MTV will air "A Tribute to Ryan Dunn" tonight at 10:30/9:30c. The special will feature Bam Margera, Margera's parents Phil and April, and Johnny Knoxville, among other close friends of Dunn, who will chronicle his rich life and share the impact he had on his crew of fellow madcaps.
"[Ryan] made us smarter, he made us funnier, he made us sweeter," a buddy observes in the trailer below, while Knoxville notes he is a better person for having known Dunn and having had the opportunity to cultivate a friendship with him. Take a peek at the video and make sure to catch the special for an up close and personal look into the brief yet full existence of a guy who never knew fear.

Obvious news alert! Nate has a "type." Just in case you haven't noticed, the "Real World" house's resident goofball only tends to canoodle with girls that are blonde. 'Course, he had his random Priscilla hookup in the season's first episode, but since then it's been all about the light-haired ladies. Which is why it seems to us that a Michelle and Nate mixing is totally in the cards. The two have been amping up their flirtation, and Nate has already checked out the House of Blues rules to make sure it's legit to mack on your boss. Lucky for him, it is!
So what's holding them back? We can't come up with anything. Can you? There seems to be lust coming from both sides, but could this match be kept apart because of the awkward boss/underling relationship? Guess we we'll just have to wait it out, but that isn't going to stop us from making bets.
+ Take the poll and let us know if you think there's potential for Michelle and Nate to knock boots!

There's nothing like a "Jersey Shore" birthday to put us in the mood to write poetry. And since we're celebrating the anniversary of a certain tiny meatball's birth, it seemed appropriate to craft minisize verses. Here are five heartfelt Haikus for The Girl With The Leopard Skin Tattoo.
You're one year older
And also one year wiser
Now go hump a plant
On your special day
We hope you don't pass out drunk
Right before the smush

Sure, your classic string of lights looks perfect between your great pine's bows, and there's no doubting that the shining star still glows on the treetop after all these years. But isn't there a certain something missing between your mother's dangling snowflake set and the diamond-shaped "Hallelujah!" on your Christmas tree? Glad you asked. Ladies and gentlemen, we now present: The "Jersey Shore" ornament.
This year, there's no better way to honor the great nativity than featuring miniature plastic interpretations of Snooki, Pauly D and "The Situation" on your towering tree. Your hot cider will taste sweeter, the sounds of carolers will be even more mellifluous and arguments between family members in the dining room will seem significantly less heated by contrast. Look, they're even a little bit orange--just like the real thing!
Make sure to check out HSN.com or the MTV Shop for the fine print on how to secure the 2011 holiday season's most magical gift. The full set is currently sold out, but you can still get individual Snooki, Pauly and Sitch figurines. Booze-fueled fighting, sexual escapades--it really does feel like Christmas already.

If "Rivals" taught us anything about the way "The Challenge" works, it's that things don't always go as planned, and history doesn't always repeat itself. Consummate elimination survivor Aneesa was sent packing straight out of the gate, rookies Leroy and Mike tore through the game like resident pros and Paula Walnuts finally had her moment in the sun after nearly a dozen attempts at a title during seasons past. So who's to say the "Real World: San Diego" greenies won't fare well if and when their time comes to compete? Here are seven arguments as to why each of the seven "RW: SD" housemates could defy the odds and walk away a "Challenge" champion.
Priscilla: First, in terms of social politics, we know Scrills can take a tongue-lashing without letting it get to her (remember Frank's inaugural in-car "Frankout"?). And, as competitors like team Jonna and Jasmine can attest to, being small can sometimes work to one's advantage. Finally, the odds that big bosses Wes or Kenny could look at the girl, lift their jaws off the floor and want to send her home are slim-to-none.

I had a major breakthrough at the retreat--a breakthrough that essentially propelled me to the next phase of my journey of self-discovery and acceptance.
I've lived in the shadow of my fears and insecurities for most of my life. I had internalized and suppressed my emotions, quickly blaming every problem on my weight. This method was less painful than admitting my real issues.
From the moment I met Angela, she challenged me to look beyond my weight and examine more of what was brewing deep within.
If there is one thing that I've learned over time, it's that everyone has a struggle. To overcome that struggle, you have to be honest with yourself. At first, I hated the idea of baring my soul, but the freedom I got from doing so was well worth it.
Every day I am striving to be a better person, but I will never forget the moment I found my voice and broke away from my self-doubts.
Spend life seeking new challenges and learning to embrace your flaws!

For the second time now, Chelsea's looked to her cousin's lovable roommate, Devon, to pick her spirits up. The first time she reached out to him they chatted at a coffee shop and he offered helpful advice on dealing with her intimidating new coworker, Ashley. Tonight, she met up with Dev to vent about her failed Old Hollywood concept, which she thought was perfect for The Vanity Room's pop-up shop. While her boss Laura may not have been sold on Chelsea's ideas, Devon was incredibly encouraging.
There's no denying that Chelsea and Devon have a strong friendship. He's committed to pushing her out of her comfort zone (he convinced her to attack the brutal Santa Monica stairs!), and she's receptive to all of his opinions. But is there something more brewing between these two?
+ Think Chelsea should spend some non-platonic time with Devon and forget about her long-distance boyfriend, Rory, or should she just keep Devon as a pal? Take the poll and sound off in the comments!

During tonight's episode of "I Used To Be Fat," we met Holly, a frustrated teen that admitted she was a product of her parents' poor eating habits. But even after enlisting the help of a committed fitness trainer, her mother's negative attitude really messed with her mind. At one point, Holly's mom actually expressed disappointment in her daughter's progress, highlighting the fact that, although though she hit her goal of dropping below 180 pounds, it took her two weeks to lose 3 pounds.
Holly experienced a lot of mental hurdles throughout her summer, from neglecting her diet completely to giving up during training sessions, but in the end, she found the strength to prevail and even influence her family, who was once the cause of much of her sorrow.
+ Do you think Holly should have explicitly asked her mom to jump on board sooner, or did she do the right thing by being patient with her loved ones? Take the poll and sound off in the comments!

Another year, another giant list of shtuff that made it worth our while not to call in sick...
1. First and foremost, we're thankful for the basics: food, water, shelter, fist-pimps, push-ups and ChapStick.
And, that...
2. The return of "Beavis and Butt-Head" has made it acceptable to repeatedly mumble out loud, "This sucks."
3. The teen birth rate is down 9 percent. Maybe someday MTV won't have to air shows like "Teen Mom" to point out how much of a struggle it is for young people to parent.
4. Snooki's skin hue has become a matter of national importance, meaning this blog is thriving.
5. Speidi have gone on the DL. Now let's work on those Kardashians...
6. Life-size stuffed animals have made a comeback.
7. Many of MTV's male cast members and characters decided it was rarely necessary to wear shirts.
