In today's "True Life: I'm Being Cut Off By My Parents," we met some young people that were suddenly faced with learning how to become financially independent. So how have they been doing since the show taped? Check out our Q&A updates below.
ALEX Are you still working at the marketing firm?
Yes, I am still at the office. It's OK...The work is pretty easy, so I can't complain. I take a lot of what I learn about marketing at the office and apply it to my own site, collegejunkee.com.
Have you been able to save enough money to begin working on your dating website? Yes, I have spent only $50 in the past three weeks on the site, and more than 700 people signed up in the first 11 days. I no longer really market the site; it's spreading on its own around different colleges.
What was it like sharing your story with us? It was one of my greatest experiences, honestly. It was hard for me to go in front of millions of people and spill my life story, but, for some reason, I felt that I had to do this. I wanted others out there in a similar position to see me as an example. I hope I reach out to that person who has been through hard times and is trying to something HUGE in their life. Dream, and dream big... this is the first step to many.

What are you up to now? Are you still temping?
I am currently still working with a temp agency. I am looking to gain employment in the sports industry, specifically as a sportswriter. So, if there are any companies looking for an aggressive, knowledgeable sports enthusiast, contact me: @trueheatherbyrd on Twitter. I am also working on starting a company that helps college students gain employment--while in school, as well as once they graduate. That was one of the problems for me, because when I graduated I did not have job security. This was especially difficult as I graduated during the recession. With my business I am looking to solve some of those problems. President Obama said it best: "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."
Are you still living in your first apartment with your roommate? Yes, I am still living in my first apartment. I love the neighborhood, and the apartment has great potential, but it has a lot of problems structurally and living wise. I am not 100 percent sure if we are going to stay in the apartment. In the beginning I was a little homesick, but now I am fine with being on my own. I have made new friends, and I've been to lots of local events. Philly is a great place, and I am loving my freedom.
What was it like sharing your story with us? It was a unique experience, and I learned a lot throughout the process. I had fun sometimes, and other times were a challenge. I believe I developed as a person. I learned new things about myself, and I learned that no matter what, family and good friends will always be there in the end. There are so many people in the world less fortunate than yourself. Never take anything for granted--life is too short. I hope my story will help others. Peace, MTV "True Life."
