Catelynn and Tyler's constant willingness to learn from each other and grow as a couple is one of the things we respect most about them. Even though their relationship with their parents became increasingly more difficult to manage this season (Butch went back to jail and Tyler's mom secretly called Brandon and Teresa), they managed to stick side by side and help each other cope through it all.
During Part 2 of tonight's "Teen Mom Finale Special," Catelynn spoke candidly with Dr. Drew about how she's been able to reconnect with her mom despite their rocky past. Therapy truly helped April learn to forgive, and she even joined her daughter on stage to share a much-needed hug.
The maturity that Catelynn and Tyler have displayed with their parents is truly amazing, and we caught up with the young couple backstage to find out just where that strength comes from. They explained that they feel compassion for Butch and April because they didn't have good role models growing up and were therefore susceptible to making a lot of mistakes, but at the same time, they still recognized that having to parent them is unfair. Check out video clips from the interview, where they promise that they're in it--together--for the long haul.
