In last week's "Awkward" webisode, Sadie made her point loud and clear that, yes, the truth can hurt, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be shared. It's a very similar mantra to No. 7 in the "Carefrontation" letter--"You have to be cruel to be kind"--so we simply connected the dots and pegged her as the author. (Of course, nothing's that simple, and we later learned that she had nothing to do with it.)
Once inside the bidding war for Knick-Knackerdom, we were interested to find that Sadie's mom, Darlene, abided by the alternative rule of thumb: "You have to be kind to be cruel." After building up Jenna's mom, Lacey, with positive reinforcement, Mrs. S trash-talked Mrs. H behind her back.
Fed up as hell, Jenna was tempted to give the mother/daughter duo a taste of their own medicine. She'd already been the victim of a name tag that read "Skank" and been tricked into dressing formally to a soup kitchen by Sadie. Ultimately, she decided against sharing the cheerleader's Achilles' heel weight with the world, and only threatened to in the event that Sadie fell out of line. Blackmail may be illegal in certain contexts, but it sounded pretty reasonable to us!
Incidentally, if Sad[ist]ie didn't write the letter...then...?
