Well this just sucks.
Apparently, six months can really make a difference in a relationship--even the really perfect-seeming ones. Back in January, rumors surfaced that former "Hills" star Lauren Conrad and her boyfriend Kyle Howard had gotten engaged (the couple denied it), but E! News reported earlier this afternoon that they're officially O-V-A. What...The...EFF? This totally came out of left field for us, so please excuse the out of character WTFs, ZOMGs and other annoying blogger-associated acronyms and slang and all-CAPS we feel compelled to vom all over the screen right now.
Surriously people, we are totes POed! Lauren and Kyle were together for THREE years and we COMPLETELY thought they were gonna make it down the aisle sometime soonish. And LC would have designed her own dress, which would have been so elegant (and like, the furthest thing from Heidi Montag's blingy, marshmallowy White Swan wedding get-up) and-and-and we would have posted pix and reported which ex-Hillzies dined on what type of hors douvres and-and-and it would have just been WICKED AWWWWESOME! (Sorry, our inner Bostonian tends to sneak out during emotional times like this.)
The only real details about the breakup that we have so far are that it was mutual and amicable. Great, we're soooo glad they're feeling OK with the whole thing...We'll just be in the office bathroom stall 'til the end of the work day biting our cuticles and cursing ourselves out for getting so personally invested in relationships THAT AREN'T OURS!
Le sigh. THAT'S ENOUGH caps for now. Stay tuned for more details.

Whitney Port always does a super job of playing sweet and edgy fashions off each other, and this week, her killer western-inspired Toga ankle boots caught our eye. She looked like a beautiful biker angel in the feminine ivory dress pictured (above left) at 2011 National Iced Tea Day--which, incidentally, is where she revealed that she and Ben Nemtin were no longer dating--and then she wore them again to The Beverly Nightclub as part of a sophisticated all-black ensemble (so very Kelly Cutrone of her).
+ What do you think of Whit's cut-out kicks? Would you sport them, or are they too rocker girl for your wardrobe? Sound off in the comments!

Every "Rivals" challenger had a first day of filming--a brief time in history before they got comfortable enough to allow the cameras to catch them puking, hooking up and having childish tantrums. Some of them have changed since they popped their MTV cherry...and some have remained exactly the same. That's why we've decided to remind y'all each week what the vets were like when we originally met them, and ask you to share whether or not you think they're any different now. Today's victims: Evelyn, Kenny and Evan from their time on "Fresh Meat."
Evan: If we were to judge by the above then-and-now pictures, Evan's gotten a little more serious over time (what's with the close-mouth smile, dude?), but ya can't judge a book by its cover, and if you've watched the premiere of "Rivals," then you know that he's just as loud, sarcastic and goofy as ever. One thing that hasn't changed, however, is his affinity for wearing blue V-neck t-shirts.
Evelyn: Then mostly known as Ev, the always ballsy competitor was just a teen when she first started out on "The Challenge" circuit. We happen to think she's grown physically stronger yet mentally more sensitive, which isn't necessarily a bad thing: We like Ev's soft side! It also can't go unsaid how glam she started to look once she finally removed that stinky old softball visor!
Kenny: Paired up with feisty Tina, spiky-haired Kenny was often put in check during his first season of the series, though that didn't stop him from pushing everyone's buttons and thinking he was the most handsome man in America. So has he changed any? We'll let you be the official judge because we're a little biased: We've become quite fond of the arrogant pseudo-guido throughout our many "Jersey Shore Hook-Up" tapings.
Watch their first episode of "Fresh Meat," then sound off in the comments on how these three have changed, if at all:

Now that Adam's been kicked off "The Challenge: Rivals" (big shocker, right?), Mike's happily taken his spot. The fact that he and Leroy are the only twosome that actually like each other gives them a strong advantage over the rest of the competitors, but that isn't helping the newbie earn respect from his hotheaded casties, who are probably looking for a reason to dislike him and, naturally, vote his team into The Jungle.
Check out this sneak peek of Wednesday's all-new episode, where Mike goes off on a tangent about the intricacies of genetically engineering corn crops. Riveting? Not really, and it's given Kenny a reason to write him off as the next guy to go. (We love Mike, so let's hope Kenny's wrong!)

After learning the tragic news on Monday morning that Ryan Dunn had died in a car crash, fans and close friends flocked to Twitter to pour their hearts out and share intimate memories of the dynamic "Jackass" star. Ryan had a true family in his castmates, so we decided to depart from our usual MTV Twitter Roundup formula this week and highlight some of the messages these torn-up folks have posted. Read their sentiments below, and if you're curious about the tattoo Wee-Man got in honor of his buddy, we included his video below.

Every Friday we thumb through your comments from the most talked about post of the week and highlight each side of the argument. Check out the latest That's What You Said below and make sure to share your own opinion!
This week, one of the more controversial stories on Remote Control focused on Allie and her fraying relationship with her baby's father, Joey. His refusal to step it up as a father coupled with his unending family chaos put a lot of stress on Allie, which eventually led to a breakup. We asked you whether or not the young mom should work on improving her communication with Joey so that he can still see his son, and here's what you had to say:
"If Joey wanted to be a father he'd be ringing her phone nonstop and he'd do whatever it takes to get to Jersey to see his child. Yeah he's only 16, but so what? He was old enough to have sex and impregnate a girl, so he's old enough to get a job, buy a plane ticket and spend time with his child." -- lena305
"I can only imagine how hard it was growing up with a drug addict. I think Joey has the potential to be a great father, its just going to take him time to mature." -- Rosanna Sanchez
"Joey has the potential to be a good man, but he doesn't have a mentor or anything. For him to not even see the baby, that's not cool!" -- Alexis Munoz
All three viewers have slightly different perspectives, but how do you feel? Is Joey a product of his upbringing, and therefore deserving of more time to grow up, or should Allie continue on her journey alone? Let's keep the convo going!

Tonight's "True Life" explored the stories of disgruntled roommates and decaying friendships. Fred patiently waited five years for his couch-surfing buddy to get the hint, and Heather was convinced that her college suitemate was talking behind her back. We had an opportunity to check in with them to find out how their lives have changed since living on their own--take a look at the follow-up Q&As below:
FRED
What is your living situation like now?
I can't even begin to describe how much I prefer living alone as opposed to having a roommate. I plan on living alone for the foreseeable future, or at least until I finish physical therapy school. I'm in no rush to add a roommate.
Have you tried to reconnect with Dave?
Dave actually moved to Florida with two guys from our hometown. We did lose touch for a while, but once he was out of my apartment and some time passed we eventually started talking again. I think it was necessary for me to kick him out because it was a reality check for him. The show and our quarrel had a positive impact on him, which was my goal the entire time.
What was it like sharing your story with us?
I had a lot of fun during the whole process, minus the months where Dave and I weren't on speaking terms. It was a rather unique experience, but I look forward to being able to share our story with a broad audience, many of whom I assume have encountered much of the same difficulties that I faced while having Dave leach off me.
HEATHER
What is your current living situation?
I am still living in North Carolina with my fiancé Josh, but we have plans to move to Colorado in the near future. We are expecting a baby in July!
Do you have any plans to return to school?
I am not enrolled in college courses right now, but am planning on finishing my degree after we move to Colorado.
Have you had any contact with Kati since she last texted you?
I have had very little contact with Kati since then. Occasionally she will write me something on Facebook but that is the extent of it. I do not have the desire to ever see or talk to her again. I would actually be better off if I could forget about ever knowing her.

Tonight's "True Life" explored the stories of two people who faced problematic uncertainty every time they ate food. Raelyn battled to understand her allergic triggers and Zeke desperately wanted to add more foods to his diet. We had an opportunity to check in with them to find out how they've been progressing--take a look at the follow-up Q&As below:
RAELYN
What are you up to now? Are you still getting treatment?
I just graduated high school and am working this summer as a part-time nanny for a local family. I'm still seeking weekly treatments from Dr. Roselle and it is going increasingly well.
Have you been able to continue to add foods into your diet without going into anaphylactic shock?
I haven't risked adding more food into my diet. I am currently content with my progress and I want to make sure my system is strong and healthy before I risk beating it down once more.
As the school year approaches are you feeling more nervous or excited about going off to college?
I am filled with mixed emotions. I am nervous, anxious and not sure what to expect...just like any freshman. I am also overjoyed with the blessing of a roommate who, even despite my health problems, wants to room with me. I can't explain what a great feeling it is to know that I can go away to college and not only have someone support me, but also take care of me if need be.
What was it like sharing your story with us?
Sharing my story has been a difficult and scary feat, but it has given me the confidence to accept myself as well as show me how powerful and beautiful trials in life can truly be. I thank God every day for the opportunity to not only share my story but the story of all those who may never get the chance to.
ZEKE
How are your food trials going?
I just finished trialing green cabbage and it went well. That's it for food trials until I go back and do some testing with the allergist in Cincinnati.
You recently had to increase your formula. Can you tell us more about what happened?
I was very tired and didn't really have a taste for the foods that I can eat because I eat them so much. I added more formula because I wasn't eating as much and I didn't want to lose weight.
What are you doing to prepare for your next hockey season?
I really haven't been doing much to prepare for next season, at least not yet. I go to "open hockey" at the rink to keep in shape. I cycle a few days a week and I am still trying to finish school. I am a little behind because of being sick many weeks this year.
What was it like sharing your story with us?
It was hard adjusting to the cameras at first--it was actually harder than I thought it would be. But it was a great opportunity for me to share what it is like for kids with EE and food allergies. I want to help so people won't have as much trouble as I have had. I recently gave two speeches at our fundraiser that we do with the Zicarelli family. I read a poem that my mom wrote for me when I was having a rough time. People at the Par-Tee seemed moved by it so I thought you might like to have it:

Every now and then we thumb through random photos of our favorite MTV casties and imagine what was going through their mind when the pic was snapped. Check out our latest What's (S)He Thinking? below and tell us if you have a better caption than what we came up with!
While enjoying a relaxing day in Florence with JWOWW, Snooki encounters a tall, dark and handsome gent who seems eager to meet her. Presumably not in the mood to do anything more than plop her feet up and enjoy some primi piatti, the "Jersey Shore" castie agrees to shake his hand, as long as she can avoid eye contact. Guess he just didn't have the juice!

There's no better place to fall in love than a country like Italy--no matter what city you end up in, you're always surrounded by warm locals indulging in rich foods and lovestruck couples staring longingly into each other's eyes--it's no wonder that some of the "Jersey Shore" kids adopted their affectionate culture. Sure, there were some less-than-pretty moments (like the rumor that Ronnie beat the crap out of Mike), but we're way more interested in remembering the times when the casties were all brimming with lurve. Let's have a look!
Before Snooki and Jionni LaValle reportedly called it quits, they spent an intimate afternoon walking around the historic streets of Florence. They held each other, shared blissful smiles and even dressed similarly. But Snooks wasn't the only roommate lucky enough to get a visitor. JWOWW and Roger shared a tender embrace when he came to see her toward the end of the trip. After spotting her studly suitor in the doorway, Jenni leaped onto him in a very cinematic fashion.
The notoriously fickle Sammi "Sweetheart"and Ronnie turned their relationship-o-meter on high once they touched down in the old country. Here, they were spotted holding hands during a sweet afternoon stroll. We're pretty sure this night ended with a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the Smush Room, which also seems to have been occupied on many occasion by "The Situation." Mike wasted no time introducing himself (and his abs) to the local girls, and within his first week in Florence, we discovered pictures of him capping off the night with TWO blonde beauties.
There may not have been any hand-holding between Pauly D and Vinny, but this cheery photo of them getting their faces sketched together implies their bromance reached new heights in the Motherland. Doesn't it just make ya go "Awww"?
+ What was your favorite lovey-dovey snapshot of the bunch? Tell us in the comments!
