What has (intermittently) red hair, blue eyes and pipes like Avril Lavigne? That'd be 24-year-old superstar-in-training, Ally Burnett (or Ally Cupcake, as she was known to her fans up until earlier this month). Born in San Diego, California, Ally grew up idolizing acts like Queen, Green Day and Blink 182, and knew she wanted to be a professional singer by the time she was four years old. So, natch, she did what any preternaturally motivated preteen would do: She signed up for voice lessons, discovered a secret knack for songwriting and bounced around a few power pop groups (e.g., The Soundtrack) before breaking off on her own (and rechristening herself Ally Cupcake) in 2009.
Unfortunately, when you're a (smokin' hot!) girl trying to make it in the mostly male-dominated world of music, life isn't always sweet. As an up-and-coming artist, Ally's had to deal with countless comparisons to Paramore's Hayley Williams (y'know, rock's OTHER über-talented redhead). "I really like and respect [Hayley]," Ally 'splained to LushBeat.com, "[but] I don’t think it’s fair to put all female artists in the same category...believe it or not, we are not all the same." (Well said, lady!)
The good news? Ally's finally starting to come into her own. In the last two years, she's recorded her debut EP (Talk of the Town) and landed tracks on "Paris Hilton's My New BFF 2" (a show she actually auditioned for herself!), as well as two songs on this season's "Jersey Shore." And despite ditching the Cupcake moniker (an old childhood nickname) and trying out life as a brunette, Ally swears she won't disappoint fans by trying to be something she's not. ("I’m not going to start making metal or dressing like Lady Gaga," she pledged on MySpace. "Make no mistake, I'm still the same artist.")
Next up for the sassy (and oft-tattooed) singer? Promoting her new EP, The Takeover (produced by Rob Freeman) and getting props for her work on "The Seven" (yep, that's Ally's voice rockin' out on the theme song). Hear her tear it up on the show opener below (pssst, you can download the full track on iTunes!), then check out Ally's music on MySpace and become her BTF (OMFG!) on Twitter.

If you caught last night's Season 2 premiere of "The Buried Life," then you may have been perched on the edge of your seat waiting to see how the boys' intricate plan to "Streak a Stadium and Get Away" would unfold. As uncontrollable amounts of anxiety pumped through their veins, the wild foursome had no choice but to ad-lib their scheme on the spot. And with all of that madness going on, you probably felt right at home when 3OH!3's fast-pumping song, "Double Vision," came on.
Presumably, you're familiar with this electro-party-rap duo because they've been collaborating with major artists, including Lil Jon, Katy Perry and Ke$ha. But before 3OH!3 dominated the airwaves, group members Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte were students at the University of Colorado. Since linking up and releasing their first self-titled album in 2007, they've managed to put out two more, including their highly anticipated third album, "Streets Of Gold," which was released on June 29.
So what are the lyricists up to now? Well, besides prepping for a six-week North American tour (their first stop is San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 14), they filmed their latest music video for "Double Vision," where--in addition to re-creating their interpretation of the internet--the twosome sings about clothes falling off and not being able to see straight. Kinda reminds us of a certain scene from last night's episode! Check out their video below:

Our first show is done! What an amazing experience!! Before I freak out about our A-list guests, I need to thank my wonderful co-host Julie Alexandria and the entire "Seven" team that made yesterday's premiere happen. Live TV is not an easy thing to do, and the people I work with make it look so f'in simple.
Alright, some names: Lil Wayne, Drake, Justin Timberlake, Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield. Damn. That's a pretty solid lineup, and those dudes need to be thanked as well. The absolute coolest part is that they all came on our show because they wanted to help us kick it off properly. They wanted to be a part of "The Seven" from the beginning. How awesome is that? I can't thank them enough.
Personally, my favorite part of the premiere was my chat with Drake and the legit surprise of bringing Weezy into the mix. Drake literally had no idea we had his mentor on the phone, and his shock was sincere. For me, to be a part of that...amazing!
I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I get to do this every day. It's unreal. You keep watchin' and we'll keep workin' to bring you the best shows possible. Day No. 1 was good, let's make day two even better! See ya @ 5pm today!

Sitting backstage, I was so excited/nervous/scared/happy/totally freaked out while waiting for the director to call our names to take the stage. The audience was in place--tons of Drake and Justin Timberlake fans awaited the start of the show. And all I kept telling myself was "don't forget to breathe." (It's amazing how you forget the simplest things when your mind is racing!)
We were finally told to take our places. "One minute, 30 seconds," the stage manager yelled, and immediately I thought to myself: "It's too late to turn back now, in one minute and now 20 seconds, everyone will be watching from home." It was all almost too much to handle at that moment.
"Aaaaand in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ... GO!" We opened the show, and it was like a plane taking off. LIVE, on air, on MTV!
The rest of the show went by so fast--it was such a blur! From "Glee" to AnnaLynne McCord making Mac & Cheese (which btw made me so hungry just watching!) to Lil Wayne calling in to chat with Drake! I was most excited to sit down with Justin, Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield from "The Social Network." Those guys were so cool, and so down to earth...I totally could have kept talking to them (and staring at them) all day.
And just as quickly as it had begun, it was over--our first episode of "The Seven." I look forward to doin' it all over again today at 5/4c ... live from Times Square!

Snooki's hairstyle is changing at a rapid pace! First she ditched the dark brown bump for reddish locks, then she snipped her bangs for the VMAs (which we lurrrrved) and now she's donning a show-stopping hat fit for a queen (though a week ago she was sporting a pickle crown on her head!). At the Hampton Chic Yacht Party in Marina Del Rey, California, the "Jersey Shore" star channeled her inner "ladies-who-lunch" and showcased a brand-new look, complete with a longer hemline and shorter heels!
+ What do you think of Snooki's Southern-inspired ensemble? Too conservative for our cartwheeling cutie, or are you enjoying this mature moment?

Tonight's all-new season of "The Buried Life" kicked off with a major bang. The boys brought their revamped list with them to Kansas City in hopes of crossing off No. 50--"Streak a stadium and get away with it." It looked like they had all their bases covered: Ben was going to pose as an in-house promotional manager, Jonnie--who was the least comfortable naked--was the streaker, and Dave and Duncan were outfitted to look just like security guards. We really didn't expect all four of them to wind up in the clink.
+ In the end, the boys considered this a failed venture (even though they were able to unintentionally cross off No. 57--"Spend a night in jail"), but were you impressed with their scheme? Take the poll and let them know!

You've probably caught a boxing match on TV before, but unless you're an avid follower of the sport, you rarely know the story behind the fighters. Tonight's episode of "World of Jenks" changed all that when Andrew Jenks gave us a glimpse of MMA fighter Anthony "Showtime" Pettis' life. After seeing how dedicated and determined the young athlete was, it was impossible not to get wrapped up in the results of his upcoming fight, especially since he was the underdog.
+ To our excitement, Anthony knocked out Danny "Last Call" Castillo with a fast-moving kick to the head. Were you surprised that he won? Take the poll!

On tonight's episode of "Fantasy Factory," Rob Dyrdek set out to make the world a less hostile place by pioneering an anti-cursing coalition. His inspiration? Guilt, from swearing at his mom. With the help of a super talented effects team, he and Drama underwent a serious makeunder and visited a local senior citizen center in hopes of finding some new naughty words.
+ Over a game of gin rummy, Rob picked up a handful of new phrases. Did you have a favorite? Take the poll and select the best expression!

In a recent battle of the Bad Boys, Brooklyn had nothing on the Bronx.
According to Life & Style's "Scene Queens," hip-hop mogul Diddy approached Sammi "Sweetheart" outside a Fashion Week event dropping lines like, "I’ve been thinking about you" (we were expecting something more R&B, like, "I've been thinking about licking you all over")--but apparently, the "Jersey" girl only has eyes for maybe/kinda/sorta boyfriend Ronnie Magro. (Yes, the same guy who cheated on her.) The Queens reported that Sammi couldn't have been bothered to respond to Diddy's advances, even though he'd been texting her friend and begging for her digits.
Every time Ron three-way kisses drunk clubgoers, we question Sammi's taste in men; however, this time she deserves a round of applause for not getting all googly-eyed over some smooth-talking celeb. Looks like fame hasn't changed her yet--well, apart from that amazing style upgrade!

The Situations's busy learning the quickstep for his performance on tonight's "Dancing With The Stars," but that doesn't mean his calendar is too full to pass on an opportunity to make some serious money. According to E!Online, the "Jersey Shore" castie is starting to charge $100,000 for Hollywood club appearances (which, incidentally, is about what he paid for his flashy new Bentley).
+ What do you think about Mike's rates? Is that a fair price for a club-going profesh, or totally outrageous? Take the poll and sound off now!
