Throughout this season of Styl'D, the junior assistants will be watching each episode and blogging about their reactions. Below, check out what Tara wrote after seeing Ep. 2.
I was so excited to work my first job with Eric, though I wasn't excited about being ranked last place. Oh well -- the senior stylists thought it was impossible to rank me without working a job yet anyway.
I remember being at Eric’s house and this mysterious man suddenly appeared. And then … wait for it … EXTREME CLOSE-UP! Watching yourself on television is bad enough, but when there are Top Chef Masters-style interview shots of your face, you just want to crawl under a rock and fade into obscurity in peace.
Pulling looks for Colbie without knowing her sizes was a daunting task. I really wanted to impress Eric on my first job, but I felt like I was blowing it before it even started. Still, I ended up pulling the winning dress! Cody (who regaled all of us with the heavily rehearsed story of his life!) said that I got lucky? I don’t think so -- I’m a girl. I know what looks good on female bodies. He told me that I shouldn’t pull that dress! His choices weren’t too great. I think he was just bitter he was dressed like an extra from Fiddler On the Roof.
I know I’m not the only one that always kind of hopes that in real life, celebrities smell like hot trash and spit when they talk. But there is a reason that they are celebrities: they are perfect, dammit! Colbie is this tall, gorgeous Amazon who is as sweet as can be. It was a delight getting to dress her. It’s so satisfying knowing that a look you helped put together walked down the red carpet. It’s such a rush!
