When we heard sex-deprived Hillzie Spencer Pratt would be doling out dating advice to unsuspecting Nerve.com readers, we weren't sure what to think. But when we actually sat down and read the article, we were pleasantly surprised by the caliber (and, occasionally, the profundity) of what he had to say.
Aside from the occasional misstep -- like telling one girl she's a secret lesbian who should dump her man pronto -- Spencer's answers were mostly right on the mark. Particularly this one, where he gave a (surprisingly) sincere response to a question about the biggest dating/relationship mistakes. After the jump, find out what Spence says is the No. 1. Relationship No No, plus hear more of his sexpert tips!
"We’re led to believe that playing games leads to anything but what it actually does," the recently married Pratt wrote on Nerve.com. "[I]f you really love somebody, then you just need to cut through it all like [Heidi and I] eventually did ... So many people put up so many barriers and protection shields and all these things around their heart, because they don’t want to get hurt. But sometimes you want to risk being hurt, because at the end of day it is better to be hurt than not truly be in love. You’re better off getting played and cheated on and dissed, than not being who you really are cause you’re trying to keep the cards on your level."
Hear that, Lady Gaga? No more love games! Anyhow, shake off all that serious relationship talk with a couple of Spencer's lighter moments. Below, our fave one-liners.
On whether people should wait to have children:
"Absolutely. I don’t think you should have kids until you’re at least a trillionaire. That’s how expensive kids are going to be in 2050."
On whether blondes have more fun:
I’m not going to put it to a hair color, you know? ... [A]nyone can have fun, even with a shaved head. Just ask Britney.
On whether posing for nude pics (ahem, ahem, Heidi) can be empowering:
"Definitely do not go to the local pizzeria for two months and then take off your clothes and then wonder why you feel guilty about it. I personally tried the pizzeria thing yesterday, and took some photos of myself naked and I was looking way too soft."
