Tonight's premiere of The City introduced a new career girl to the mix (Erin Kaplan, Director of Publicity at Elle magazine), as well as a brand new office beef involving none other than Miss 'You're Not The Boss Of Me' Olivia Palermo. The power struggle, which kicked off inside a fashion closet at Elle HQ, just might go down as the tensest workplace moment in City history. (Eye-rolling! Sarcasm! The F-Bomb!) Below, we've transcribed the argument in case you missed any of the juicy parts. Check out who said what, then sound off about these sparring coworkers: Which ElleGirl was in the right/wrong, plus do you think Erin and 'Liv can move beyond their transparent jealousy of one another differences to peacefully coexist among the Prada samples?
Olivia: Both of us were there for quite a long time, and there's really not that much to choose from with our budget and what they have to select, so if you have a problem, you can go back and do it yourself ... You know what, I'm sorry. I'm doing my job. You're a publicist and you can do your job.
Erin: No, no, no, I get it. No, I get it. Just, how many morning shows have you worked on?
Olivia: I don't need to work on a morning show, that's not my job. That's not my responsibility.
Erin: That is your job, to pull accessories if I ask you to, so that was really inappropriate. I mean, I don't think I've ever been spoken to that way.
Olivia: OK, this is not OK. F**k this. This it it, I'm over it.
Erin: Shocking, shocking, shocking, Olivia. Seriously.
Olivia: You know what, I don't need to fight with you, that's ridiculous.
Erin: Well, maybe if you didn't start it, it never would have happened. Maybe if we just had a normal conversation, it would work.
Damn, girls! Whatever happened to creative collaboration? No truly stylish ensemble was ever put together without a team of experts! (At least, according to said experts.)
(Sidenote: Hopefully Whitney and Roxy will rise above this kinda career cattiness, though our Magic 8-Ball is saying otherwise ... Tune in next week at 10:30pm to find out where that ying-to-yang relationship is headed!)
