In this world, there are two kinds of people in the world: leaders and followers. And we have zero prob admitting that we fall squarely into the second camp. Sure, being an innovator is neat -- in a risky, putting yourself out there sorta way. But we're far more comfortable taking our cues from OTHER people.
(Duh! How else will you know what's already popular?!) Which is why we've compiled a list of New Trends We Wanna Steal based on this week's Daddy's Girls. (Not including Wild Golf Cart Goose Chases, shown above.)

Trend #1: Spy Girls. Fact: We've been hooked on spy gear ever since the first time we saw Inspector Gadget. (LOVE him!) But we had no idea stalking gear was mainstream until we saw Angela shell out for back-that-ass-up goggles as part of Operation: Skinny Jeans. Thanks for the memo, girls! Now, if you'll excuse us, we'll be wiretapping our phones and bugging the office. You know, just in case.

Trend #2: Champagne makeovers. We always thought that, when making drastic, life-altering decisions (like whether or not to cut your hair!), it was best to be of sound mind. But apparently, we were wrong. These days, it's all about getting a teense bit tipsy -- then making loopy, impulse decisions! And, as always, it still comes down to the *big* reveal. You know, the amazing moment when you "wow" your friends with your sexy new 'do. Which, in your case, they've already nicknamed The Giraffe.

Trend #3: Martini fruit cups. We learned about the importance of fancy place cards from The City's resident "social" Olivia Palermo. And now we've learned another dinner party trend: serving fruit salad in fancy martini glasses! Sadly, we're not sure this applies to us, seeing as (a) we don't have dinner parties, (b) we don't like fruit salad and (b) we broke our martini/Cosmo glasses last summer, hosting a Sex and the City party (sans place cards). Sigh.

Trend #4: It's all about branding. Nice laptop, Vanessa! Funny thing, though. It kind of gave us this sudden craving to go out and buy women's sneakers. (You know, sorta like how watching Fast Food Nation made us REALLY, REALLY want Chicken McNuggets, except minus the liver damage.) Huh.

Trend #5: The 80's are back! We already posted about Angela and Alycia's fab glow-in-the-dark skate clothes, but we failed to mention that Angela kept the nostalgia comin' with this chic, off-the-shoulder number. All that's missing to complete the look? Some Debbie Gibson tunes, an old Tiger Beat magazine (with Blossom star Joey Lawrence on the cover) and a pair of intentionally ripped acid-washed jeans.
+ Any more Daddy's Girls-inspired trends we forgot to jot down, study obsessively and (eventually) try and pass off as our own? Let us know!
