For those of you keeping track, Whitney Port and Jay Lyon have been together one month, and in between all the hot hand-holding and post-dinner smoochfests, they’ve already had to endure infidelity rumors, jilted (almost) exes and awkward dinner parties. And this week, things took a turn for the awkward when Whit’s freelovin’ roomie, Erin “I’ve Only Had Long-Distance Relationships” Lucas, exchanged the L-word with her boyfriend of approximately 10 seconds.
Natch, Whitney sided with her old/new pal, telling her she wasn’t crazy (wasn’t she?) and attributing the whole thing to amazing timing, but Jay wasn’t fully convinced that Erin did the right thing by professing her love to a total stranger.
“I just get worried that you throw [the word] around too quickly,” said Jay (er, approximately), before adding that it can be hard to differentiate between “100% love” and “over-the-top lust” in less-than-two-week-old relationships.
