It's the biggest, bestest Hills finale event ever -- and we're bringing you live updates from the red carpet and inside the party all throughout the evening! Who's we? That'd be myself, Control Freak (I sometimes go by Lisa, too), and my feisty co-blogger, Show Girl (who I sometimes call Debbie ... or Squeaky Knuckles).

HERE'S THE ACTION AS IT HAPPENS:
12:39am: From the bottom of our heartsies, thanks for reading our updates tonight and sharing in all the fun. We had a blast fo sho, but it's late and all the stars have gone home (or back to their luxe hotels for an invite-only afterparty). So g'night, g'luck and happy dreamin' of Dan Levy-slash-Justin Bobby by your bedside.
12:02am: The crowd is finally beginning to disperse -- some of them are a little rowdy after an action-packed evening of celebrity sightings, an exciting musical performance and the hug heard around the world. We need to ask one guy to please stop yelling, "Audrina's a Patridge in a pear tree!" directly into our eye.
We're feeling pretty beat as well, but as we sluggishly pack up to go, we get ourselves a second wind. Speidi are taking more pics with fans, and suddenly we realize that we never got a good look at those now infamous wedding bands. So we call out, "Spencer! Heidi! Are you wearing your rings?" Indeed they are -- but they've already switched out the Cabo gift shop temps (made of fake leather -- pleather! -- as confirmed by Heidi) for some really beautiful yet understated diamond bands. "We had to do something about those other ones," Spencer says while showing off his new bling. Check it:
11:24pm: During the final commercial break, Heidi poses for pics with fans, shakes some hands and asks how everyone's night is going. She seems sincerely grateful for all the attention.
And what's this? Spencer just admitted to sometimes being a jerkface? Amahzing night it is.
11:07pm: The Superfans are clamoring for a glimpse of Speidi! And the newly re- engaged couple is giving the people what they want. Fact: Spencer just climbed into the audience and took pics with some lucky ladies in the front row! And Heidi just bumped her head on a low-hanging snowflake while trying to pose with a fanboy. Now that's commitment!
11:00pm: Our ears are still ringing from the shrieking (the crowd was showing their love for LC), but we're 99% sure we just heard a chant of "Bromance" echo through the crowd. Meanwhile, we just spotted Speidi sneaking a quiet romantic moment out on the patio. Kissing with no cameras?? Now we KNOW they're in love!
10:45pm: During the commercial break Justin's motioning to Jessi that he can barely hear her. Maybe that has something to do with the knit hat pulled over his ears? Just sayin' ...
10:43pm: Jessi just encouraged Justin to pick up Audrina's (promise?) ring by getting down on one knee. We say: Go for it, dude! The only thing better than the first-ever Hills wedding? A double-header ...
10:40pm: Oh, the cheering when Spencer says he wants to (finally) give Heidi the wedding of her dreams! Mazel, Spence -- you now have the people behind you!
10:24pm: Did Heidi and Lauren just embrace?? The crowd's oohing and awwing says "yes." We haven't seen any tears (yet!) but we've been waiting for this hug since season 2! Four words, guys -- it's about frickin' time!
10:24pm: Dan and Jessi are serving the role of fluffers during commercial breaks, telling us we're the best-looking audience ever and requesting that we do our best hootin' and hollerin' when the cast hits the stage in mere moments.
BTW: Fans have been glued to the TV since the episode started. Nothing can shake them -- just take a look at this pic:
9:50pm: Whitney, Audrina and Justin just scooted out of the VIP area, giving the crowd a big wave on their way to the studio. (More cell phone pics!) Oh, and did we mention 'Drina and JB were totally hanging out together? Because they were. For some reason, though, we're the only ones who seemed to notice. Possibly because Justin's Dan Levy glasses have made him utterly unrecognizable ...
9:47pm: Just got out of the ladies room, where Holly's smiling for photos (you know those are gonna be Facebook profile pics!) and Steph just got permission to cut the line.
9:45pm: We're finally all warm and cozy inside, and surrounded by giant flat screen TVs playing last week's episode of The Hills. There's a collective gasp from the crowd as Speidi decide to tie the knot in Cabo.
We spy lots of sequins and plastic snowflakes, a man-made winter wonderland with veggie platters and warm cookies to boot! The 21+ crowd is sipping vino and looking for a spot to stand where the camera might discover their fresh faces.
15 min and counting til the season finale!
9:15pm: Carpet's officially over! On our way back inside, we catch Lauren graciously posing for cell phone pics with some younger fans. We'd stay to sneak another peek at her sparkly mini-dress but our ears can't handle all that shrieking! Time to head inside (OMG, warmth!) and check out the pre-show action ...
8:40pm: Whitney Port is officially our new BFF! OK, not really but hey, we share a zip code now (which, in my deluded mind, means we're practically neighbors/sisters/friends for life. Or something).
Anyhow, just got the dish on all of Whit's brand new City girls! Lauren's are some tough (and super cute!) shoes to fill, but it sounds like our gal's already made some close girlfriends here in NYC. You know, to go along with that dreamy rocker boyfriend (who Whit says serenades her from time to time). Jealous much?
8:30pm: We take back everything we ever said about Lauren and Audrina not being friendzies anymore -- after seeing them together, it's obvious Justin Bobby is the last thing on their minds! (Well, Lauren's anyway ...)
8:17pm: P.S. Audrina's eyes are even more smoky in person!
8:16pm: Lauren, Audrina and Whitney just rode in on their high horse ... and buggy! All three look fab in their thin silky gowns. You'd never know it was sub-zero temperatures outside.
8:10pm: Steph and Holly are getting in some serious girl time right now! They're acting like besties, giggling and staying warm by striking Charlie's Angels type poses on the carpet!
This just in: Steph just told Access Hollywood that Cameron showed up with his ex tonight. Major faux pas! And you'll never guess who Cam's new BFF appears to be ... uh, Brody!? Guess that explains why Stephanie's New Year's resolution is to get over him once and for all. Yep, you guessed it -- they're officially broken up ... again.
8:02pm: Not only is Spencer happy to pose for pics with fans inside -- he just did a little dance for them ... Something resembling "The Robot" with jazz hands. And strike what we said before about Cam showing up *just* for Steph ... He brought his ex-girlfriend! Dramaaaaaa! (Still cute tho.)
7:51pm: The rest of the press totes want in on our interview with Speidi right now. The couple's all laughy-laughy like they just got married or something!
An Audrina-less Justin Bobby's right behind them looking happy to be here and kinda sorta A LOT like After Show host, Dan Levy.
7:40pm: Overheard: Brody and Frankie heckling Spencer on the carpet: "How's the beard?" It's all in good fun though. Brody says he and Spencer are still bros and will be for life.
7:45pm: Sidenote: Lo's having a tough time walking/wobbling into the party -- but not because her designer heels are almost four inches high. Her "toes are frozen!" Did we mention it was cold outside? These sockless girls are definitely missing sunny L.A. right about now ...
7:39pm: Lo alert! Lauren's BFF says she's way psyched for the holidays (she's heading to Cabo with the fam) and she's hopeful that the rumored Heidi/LC hug is for reals ... so are we, Lo ... so are we.
7:35pm: Just got done chatting with Frankie and Brody!! They wouldn't give us too much dirt on Bromance, except to say there are some major touchy-feely moments (Literally! Think: Brody and Frankie sharing a bed).
7:33pm: Steph Pratt's (on-again? off-again?) BF, Cameron, opted not to walk the carpet tonight. He's here merely supporting his girl, or so it appears. Did I mention he's so so SO cute in person?! Way to go, S. Pratt! Like, really cute.
7:26pm: Spotted: Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado bromancing the red carpet. Brody's Chargers ski gloves complement his wrist bling nicely!
7:22pm: Just caught up with Steph, who says she's been gunning for a Heidi/LC peace treaty since day one. Meanwhile, Holly says things between her and Spencer are still tense, but she's trying to focus on the positives ... like her amazingly cute boyfriend of six months! Sign him up for Hills duty already!
7:15pm: Overheard: Two teenage girls and their mom trying to explain to a New York City police officer exactly why the prospect of a Heidi/LC makeup sesh on tonight's finale is so HUGE!
7:08pm: The first to arrive and lookin' quite sexy is Stephanie Pratt. In one swift motion she throws off her fur coat (revealing a soft baby doll dress) and lets out a "Whoo! It's cold!" before striking a milli poses for the paps. Holly Montag follows close behind -- smart girl tries to keep her coat on in the fuh-reezing cold weather, but the crowd isn't having any of it: "The dress! Let us see the dress!"
6:37pm: Remember LC's Black and White Party from the Laguna Beach days? Well, that's kinda what it looks like inside Tavern on the Green. Lots of attractive female fans with flat-ironed bangs wearing black strapless dresses and really expensive handbags (or some really awesome knockoffs).
This isn't exactly the place you come if you're looking to meet guys, but it sure does smell good in here! A yummy mix of gourmet food and Mariah Carey.
5:49pm: Audrina & Co. aren't set to arrive for one more hour. But that hasn't stopped these superfans from braving the elements and lining up outside. Think warm thoughts, guys! And just be glad you can't feel the rain on your skin ...
5:35pm: That's us! Lisa aka Bossy McBosserstein aka Control Freak (left) and Deb aka Show Girl aka Squeaky Knuckles (right) on the carpet. For the record, we're much cooler looking in person. We're hanging with peeps from MTV News and freezing our booties off waiting for the Hills castmembers to arrive. In this case, there's NO such thing as fashionably late. Get here ... quick!
5:27pm: Nobody here yet but the production room is already buzzin'. It's BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop) and all the bliggity bloggers are poised and ready to go. Just confirmed our spot on the carpet right next to MTV News. Score!
5:24pm: Just arrived at Tavern on the Green and promptly snuck ourselves inside the After Show rehearsal. Dan -- clad in wooly hat and parka -- is dressed for the chill, tho the heat is on way too high in here! Cotton mouth waiting to happen. Jessi's wearing her trademark humongous hoop earrings.
4:12pm: Powdering our noses in the ladies room of MTV headquarters (Times Square) before heading over to Tavern on the Green in Central Park. It's like 13 degrees outside and we're hoping the Hills cast brought winter coats for the red carpet...
