We're not exactly sure when superstardom became synonymous with complete overexposure, but we do know this: the separation between public and private life is now virtually nonexistent. And no one illustrates the phenom of tabloid journalism better than its involuntary poster child, Britney Spears.
Since catapulting herself into the limelight at age of 16, Britney's endured a messy divorce, a messier child custody battle and a major career meltdown -- not to mention the general indignation of having her every move, word, misstep and minor fluctuation in weight chronicled by the omnipresent swarm of press/paparazzi.
Fortch, Britney's never one to quit while she's behind.
The megastar took the world by storm at this year's VMAs, walking out with 3 Moonmen, plus (arguably) the most hotly anticipated comeback the music world's ever seen. And with her new album, Circus, about to drop, Britney's poised to reclaim her title of pop royalty nearly teen years after she first gave up the crown. But first, she's gonna use some of that unrelenting media attention to her advantage.
On November 30th at 10pm, MTV will show a 90-minute documentary of Spear's reemergence as an artist, giving the public a chance to see the world from Britney's point of view. With behind-the-scenes footage from her new video, "Womanizer," revealing interviews and footage of Britney in the studio, the documentary (tentatively titled For The Record) will finally give the singer a chance to tell her own story.
So check out this sneak peek, and go behind the glamor for an intimate look at the "real" Britney Spears. It's the one story you haven't seen, read or heard anywhere else.
